by citzen on May 06, 2009 03:26 PM  | Hide replies

Even after 60yrs of Independence, still people doesn't have water to drink ????. Come on congress you need to answer.

On otherend we develop satillities & neuclear reactors & nano's.. Govt should first concentrate on drinking water, on other water is available but no purifier. wat is this yaar ??. whenever any ppl jumps a triffic signal there is policemen to collect money, will never excuse, as if we have crossed LOC & why we should excuse the concern authorities, they should be behind bars.

Ya thats there idea..Keep ppl poor and offer them rice at 3 Rs/Kg or something during election time to lure them....

The urban votes are less substancial compared to rural votes.I think India should follow US formula, where depending on your status/achievements in life, your vote carry more weightage..then only real change will come

You can only ask for 'water' and 'NOT CLEAN WATER'. You must understand that one should not ask for 'imaginary' things specially in India.

Why
by New York on May 06, 2009 12:23 PM  | Hide replies

Teachers must solicit and record all WHY questions from your children and give them to you at the end of the day.
If I were the Prime Minister of India, I would AMEND Constitution accordingly.

Audacity of Politicians
by Ajith Kumar on May 06, 2009 12:16 PM  | Hide replies

For the thick skinness our politicians will get
entry in Gunness Book of Records.
It is pathetic that the 60 Years of Rule by the Politicians of all hues(starting with a mere 35-36 Crores population)majority of Indians are living in pathetic conditions. At a time the Swiss and German Banks are indicating
the stupendous amount of the contry's money
stasjed away by Indians in those Banks what is
the living condition of the Indian.
Women trek kilometers to fetch water. One can imagine what hygeine can be expected by the frugal use of precious water by a family. There
are No Roads in many villeges.Power supply-as
Mr.Rahul Gandhi the heir apparent comforted a
poor women- can be provided once the new Atomic
Reactors start operations.Children -the bread
winners of many families-cannot go to schools
because they cannot afford to lose the meagre
income they generate as ragpickers, cycle shop/
hotel attendants, labourers or house servants etc.The M.L.As,M.Ps etcmake the trek through these villeges in Helicopters to give"Darshans"
Farmers cannot afford to cultivate because of the high cost and lack of Irrigation and other
infrastructure facilities AND FINANCE.Once the
crop- surmounting all adversities- is out the farmer gets returns which will be below his actual cost.NOW the farmers are lured by hughe
Super Malls who support them in the begining til he become so dependant on them for his living.Once the farmer is ensnaired the expliotation will start.

boss,
We indians are very good at reactions .But when it comes to actions we are Zero.
After 26/11 a big mass came on to the roads to abuse politicians with candles in their hands. That was their reaction to 26/11 .but when it came to actions 50% voting was recorded in Mumbai. No body came out to vote.
Some excuse that there is no poitician so good to be voted. That time they forget about 49-o.
Hence we can see the present condition of our country.I believe in dharmendra's words that india needs a dictator who can take tough decisions for 5-10 yrs. Then only india's dream to become a superpower be fulfilled.
Then only people will understand the meaning of democracy and the importance of voting.

We the people of india ourselves are responsible for the condition of current india.

Excellent!!!Well said..We people are one of the most cause for all the existing bad conditions. We were scared that authorities may not approve our application and started bribing them. Later we required comfortable and smooth processing of our application and nor bribery is become a mandatory formality. Same applicable to all bad and worse situations we have today.

49-O are you joking!! try telling 49O to the polling officials the political party's agents will mark you and then thrash you like a dog. It's better not to vote until "none of the above" option is given in EVM.Which will never happen

then right now what are you more than a dog .who just barks nothing else.
People dont take initiative and just complain ....thats india...
neither that option is going to be there in EVM and nor you are going to vote..hence you will just say at your old age also the same comments ....And will just abuse politicians.

have you done any research on the candidates from your constituency.Do you know them or just have a perception that every politician is corrupt.

Rightly said. If all these so called educated, intelligent, socially concious people who write and talk about democracy, vote to a gentleman among the availble candidates, then things will change. Till such time nothing will happen. Every individual will have to give serious attention to this and positively vote for the right person , irreseptive of the fact tahe he loses or wins.

Yes, it is crime
by a r on May 06, 2009 11:37 AM

In India, it is a crime because all the politicians are very busy in making money through Corruption and increasing their balance in Swiss banks. To distrub them from such a important work is a definate crime.

Criminal offenses in India:
Asking for Roads,
Water,
Electricity,
Education,
Food,
Jobs,
Good Government Service,
Development.

Do a scam, do a murder, communal clash, take bribes - you can easily get away and CBI will give a clean chit over a period of time and politicians like Rahul will say it is dead issue.
