Yes, S Ve Sekhar is right. It is very hard to work with the paries or people like Jayalalita and Mayavati. Those two are very agressive people and expect everyone to touch their feet and worship them like god.
Fools who want power and who doesn't have self respect will do that but people like Sekhar will exit from the party. He is doing the right thing and he looks like a good and clean politician.
Sekhar has now decided to join BJP but it is also a party of similar kind. Better he join Congress party. I do not know how the people of Congress party are in TN but if he has the aspirations to go to Delhi and is expecting respect better he join the parties like Congress.
i donot agree that brahmins need reservations, even if they are poor , they are the best brains in the country, they achieve the best posts onmerits alone, who else dare to do that, that is what makes htem unique, lets not degrade them like others who want reservation due to some handicap specialy when it comes to brains. others cannot match the brahmin in brains no matter how much advantage the govt gives them, if it is 30% reservation it means 70% nil only 30% brains. we brahmins are proud of our religion and caste, no one can take that away.
2. No one is preventing women from contesting election, then why they need reservation. 3. Even if they get 33% with this what they will do? 4. If woman is contesting on reserved seat for women, then why other woman is contesting against another women? Why can't be consenses. 5. Women candidates are getting votes from Men too from that reserved constituency, then who will look "MEN" problem.
I have seen in my own village some Brahmans and vokkaligas are poorer then other backward communities. There the real financial help is need to give minimum education. And the level of schooling also matters lot. People studied kannada medium they can not equally compete with Urban schooling students for higher studies. There needed real reservation. Abusing low caste people and depriving that community is almost nil in states like Karnataka. The new politicians think new way of reservations based on financial status and level of schooling.

You are welcome at CSDS to speak abt the almost NIL part
S.v.Sekhars decision is what any body having self respect will do. Caste based Reservation has to go and monetary assistance for education has to be given based on economic criteria. As long as our politicians want to keep vote banks, they will come together, irrespctive of their party affiliation, to promote their cause and perpetuate caste based resertvation.
there was no b*omb bl*ast today in porkistan!!! gilani has condemned it.. and has said that foreign hand(in*dia) is clearly visible in that.. they have attributed it to lapse in security of indian agencies... investigations are ongoing.... meanwhile taliban has said that it was waiting for alqaeda to blast today and alqaeda has pointed fingers at talibans inefficiency...... gilani has asked for a report on this serious lapse and has asked rehman malik to submit a report by 1 month!!...

I am a native of Raja Mannargudi in Thanjavur Dist. I do not want to elaborate more on this subject, as every citizen knows that the present days Brahmin Community is fast changing to non-adoption of their valuable conduct of life as per Dharma. Their style & behaiour is fast changing to eradicate the Brahmin Community itself. To say, performance of their daily ablution, maintaining the traditional values, eating, behaving, & charactoristic attitudes are not to the extent as per our Hindu Sanatana Dharma.
First & foremost duty of a leader irrespective in any field is, to bring this state of affairs to the original state to the maximum extent possible, and definitely the Brahmins' status will highly improve in the years to come. We ourselves can uplift our Brahmin Community rather than seeking from the Government any policy to that effect. This is my humble opinion as a responsible citizen and a staunch follower of Brahminism as per Hindu Sanatana Dharma.
recently the chief justice of supreme court made a very relevant statement and I am extrapolating the same here below: His statement is something like " we have been practicing reservations for the past 60 years and keep expanding the scope of people under this policy which is self defeating" on the other hand we should be reducing the % of people who wud be the beneficiary of this policy". I will go a step more, the reservations were introduced to "right a wrong on the oppressed communities by the other castes". Now if the reservations have been successful, we should be reducing the % quota under the reserved categories. On the other hand by increasing the % we are openly declaring that this system is a failure, on the other hand we keep increasing the quotas which again would be self defeating. If you think clearly somewhere down the line the logic has been forsaken. In a jist what I am saying is we have increased the quota admitting that the system has not worked, and again if it had not worked why not look for an alternative system rather than persist with this defunct one. On the same grounds I feel that Brahmins should not ask for quotas, though it is tempting to ask for it. Brahmins should now take it up to spread the concept of equality and "DO AWAY WITH THIS PAROCHIAL SYSTEM". In the US till the 60's blacks were more oppressed than the our lower caste Hindus. Still Obama has come up "SANS RESERVATIONS". let us fight for the same in india and pray it happens.

There is nothing wrong in giving reservation to Forward casts because they have equal right to live in this society as much as you have.
People were discriminated 50-60 years back when there was no good litracy levels. But times have changed. Based on the percentage of peopulation if you expect reservation in jobs why can't the same rule be applied to the people of the forward castes.
People like Ambedkar and Periyar have fought for equality. To bring the people of backward castes to the level of forward castes and to change the mindset of forward castes to treat every one equally. So giving reservations to Bramhins will not be considered as insulting those leaders.
In the present India everyone has the equal right to contest in elections. All backward castes have reservations. Only forward castes are ignored. So now it is the time to pay attention at those people.

Re: Insult by Jayant Joshi on Apr 01, 2009 11:36 AM Permalink You are thinking wrong my friend !! Ambedkar did not fought for lower cast or community. He wanted then to be a part of mainstream. "Reservations" in ambedkar terms is to promote lower cast people to come in mainstream and that too it was for 10 years. He never wanted to propose the concept RESERVATION. THis shit concept is originated through MANDAM AYOG and associated politicians to use and get profits for their own purpose amongs internal community differences
Re: Insult by JGN on Apr 01, 2009 11:31 AM Permalink vinod, why the porkicutlets are poking their nose into the affairs of h1ndus? We will sort out the problems oursleves.
Re: Insult by omkar kale on Apr 01, 2009 11:37 AM Permalink rEAD WHAT Ambedkar has wrote properly - He had clearly said that reservation methods shd stop after 10
