dhoni is surely a fantastic captain

i remember gangwa literally shaking with fearrr at the prospect of facing fast bowlers. he used to shuffle himself up and down the order to hide from new ball. his condition was patheticcc. dhoni knows no fear.

Ganguly was a biggest motivator of team. Dhoni cannot be underestimated. But Dhoni has developed ego recently. That is not good for cricket.

Yes. I agree but when Dhoni took the charge of team those superstars decline had been started. They were aging and it was affecting their performance. So my point is that Dhoni doesn't have best indian test team. Ganguly was very good captain no doubt about it. But now after 2011 WC victory Dhoni has overtaken his achievements.

I like this Anurag. Boss how you manage to get this recordS?
But it doesn't make some better captain, if players don't perform. Does it?

pankaj actually the stats were better before aus and eng tour...because of those tours the stats got dented a bit...and dont forget the new Generation players...see also their stats...the seniors as well as juniors have good stats under dhoni...u are looking only at senior stats after they got dented a little after the 2 whitewashes...

we must respect him as he did a lot for india as captain
in 1999-2000
it was really difficult times for indian cricket
laxman was a new player at dat time
and no proper WK in those days
only srinath as a fast bowler n he was also on d verge of retirement arnd 2000
ajay ratra, vijay dahiya n many more were tried
as a WK
parthiv patel came in as a 17 yr old
AUS, PAK, SA, WI a lot better n stronger teams dan now in 1999-2000
so better dont comapre dhoni wid ganguly as captain

Dhoni is the best Captain
by rahul tiwari on Sep 05, 2012 06:56 PM

Though I am a very big fan of Ganguly and Kapil but if one goes by statistics, Dhoni is better a captain.
Ganguly showed lot of agressiveness on and off the field. He was the most agressive and thinking captain. His plans would often work on the field. Under his captainship we saw an agressive Indian team who won lot of tournaments oeverseas and domestic.
Dhoni, was given captainship when India was down after their early exist from the world cup.Nobody in the wildest dream thought that India will win world T20 cup in their wildest dream. Winning 2 world cups for India really speaks about Dhoni's captainship. Moreover he is a supercool human being. He never shows his emtion on and off the field.HE has good man management skills. The only drawback with Dhoni is that under his cpatainship India had lesser wins overseas as compared to Ganguly. So I would rate Dhoni as a better captain than Ganguly or any other captian India has ever had.
Anyways i am a big fan of Ganguly and I always admired him as a player and captain.
