Sachin

Country is first. Sachin comes after. Selectors should drop him, if he is not ready to quit the game in the spirit of game. Lot of young people are waiting to play. He has played enough cricket and spoiling his name whatever he has achieved.

Why?

Don't ask for plan just drop him. It's upto him when he wants to retire but it's upto selectors who should play in the team or not.

Why should the selectors speak to Sachin ? He is not performing and should be dropped , why should there be a different yard stick to measure his performance

CRICKET? PERFORMANCE
by tarun midde on Nov 26, 2012 11:45 AM  | Hide replies

Why asuage sachin. If he is not performing simply keep him out! No great player in the world can aspire to continue by not performing at all.

Its high time he retires before further fall.

It only happens in India where performance is not the criteria. Even Dhoni is not capable. He should be dropped as well.

And as some one suggested we must have a fresh team for Test.

What if Sachin says that he wants to continue playing till his son is ready to take his place?

Sachin - Pls retire
by itla kumar on Nov 26, 2012 11:38 AM  | Hide replies

Y don't these ex players show some guts and say that Sachin shud retire and his shelf life is over.I remember these so called experts were jumping the gun for both Dravid & Laxman when they failed but they keep mum when it comes to Sachin. He ia avging 15 in the last 10 innings less than any other batsman in the present team and he is going to be 40,if not now when will he be asked to retire.

Gavaskar,Shastri and Sanjay are his Mumbai buddies and therefore support him.If he was from some other state, they would have criticised him.

Not just Sunny,he is inferior to Dravid as well.Dravid is technically more solid than Sachin and moreover he has played more match winning/saving innings than Sachin. For me, Sunny is the best batsmen that India ever produced followed by Rahul and than Sachin.
Lot of ppl criticize Sunny for playing slow, but the exemplary technique that he has shown while facing some of the all time deadliest fast bowlers and succeding against them is truly hallmark of his greatness.

Dravid is not technically that correct. He has a backlift whaich goes towards the second / third slip, and hence his natural stroke is always the on drive... more towards midwicket, Whereas Gavaskar and Sachin both play more straight... and hence the natural shot was straight drive more through the mid on / in the V ... That is why many a time we saw Dravid palying on or playing straight to the midwicket fielder...

Forced retirement in unfair
by swapnil patil on Nov 26, 2012 11:37 AM  | Hide replies

All this talk of a forced retirement is absolutely unfair. Its the selectors job to select the best 11 for the country. if Sachin isnt good enough anymore drop him from the team - thats their job ; not talk to him about retirement or future. if he wants to play and is good enough he will bat in Ranji and get re selected for the team. else it should be Rahane or Rohit Sharma or Badrinath or whoever else plays well who should be playing instead of Sachin
