kallis is greatest cricketer ever. playing for country is always great.

as everyone knows sachin plays for records and unlucky to team (he failed in all 4 worldcups), if people still says sachin is great, I'm sure they must be have lowest IQ in the world

allrounding performnce is great

guys use your brain, kallis scored runs, took wickets/catches, played 4yrs lesser than sachin, lesser matches than sachin and won most of the matches for his country.

where sachin scored runs to improve his records and he never won any big matches for country.

now guys use your brain, analyze both again. if u still says sachin is great than u must be having lowest IQ in the world.

If somebody is good, it doesn't mean that the other person is not good. I want all of these Sachin abusers to look at one aspect of it that Kallis brought up where the the pitches will test the batsmen's skill at the highest level and he got practiced and developed his skills under those circumstances. But what about Sachin? And one more thing that crickers in countries like Aus,Eng,SA and NZ had the opportunity to get trained under the highly qualified trainers and the coaches. But is this the case with Sachin? But still he managed to play the cricket for his country for more than 20yrs and getting respected by top bowlers for his competence. I request all the Sachin abusers to think before giving such comments.

Kallis and Sachin

There can be no comparison between these two great gifted cricketers. Both have different styles. Sachin is basically an attacking player where as Kallis builds his innings and also adjusts to the situation.

On most of the occasions Kallis has helped his team either to win or to draw a game and also has retrieved their team from many hopeless situations, though Sachin has 51 hundreds , how many of them have helped us to either draw or win a match. In this respect I feel Sachin is very unlucky. It is wrong to condenm him .Some people are born to fight losing battle only. We do not stand any chance of winning this match. We can only play well and earn a honourable draw.

Dispite the differences you mentioned, ofcourse, you can compare players that belong to the same era.

Just because Kallis is closing on Tendulkar's number of test runs, test centuries, test averages, you can't wake up on one morning and start comparing Kallis with Tendulkar.

Kallis is a good player to me and some people may say a great player. But Sachin is gifted and the greatest.

Again you are going round about sachin...Bradman was not able to avoid defeat with his ton or earn draw for Australia every time...so why you are dragging sachin??..Did every ton of Laxman have helped india to earn draw or win ????

Who's the best
by ram kumar on Jan 06, 2011 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin or Kallis. The comparison is just not there. Both are unique on their own. Both extremely talented. One a run machine, highly consistent, bears the burden of million expectations. The other a gifted allrounder with immense capability. Comparing a pure batsman with an allrounder is just not correct. In true spirit of the game, we need to acknowledge the contribution of these two great champions to their respective teams and to the game of cricket at large.

20 years ago, people started comparing Sachin with Bradman, 10 years ago Sachin with Lara, yesterday Sachin with Ponting, and today Sachin with Kallis

And tomorrow some moron will compare Sachin with Tom, Dick & Harry.

This is all bull shit. Sachin is the greatest ever (period).

Kallis and Tendulakar
by Abhijit Sarkar on Jan 06, 2011 11:34 AM

both are gem of CRICKET. You can not compare them on the basis of individual record because both of them played with different team and in different circumstances which matters a lot in international cricket. Lots of people here say Sachin has played for money not for country etc and Kallis has. If that is so what happened to him in World Cup 99 and World Cup07 semifinals against Australia in spite of a back up of good team and bowling unit.
If you check his record against Aussies it’s far below than his overall record (40.58 I guess). But that does not mean that he is average player. It’s d team, circumstances and individual form that plays a big part.
Watching both Kallis and Tendulakar is nothing less than a treat and hats off to both of this players. For failures it’s the overall team that should be blamed not individual. For India it’s mainly our bowling unit whether it’s this match or world cup final 03 or in most of the heart breaks of Indian Cricket.
