Sachin is the best

How many times we indians criticize sachin, rather supporting him. Sachin is just incredible. Does india has the same bowling attack like south africa. Kallis scores but their bowlers also support him by taking wkts

The great ness of any cricket is deciding by his test cricket performance……
Number one is bradman with test avg 99.94.....So competition is for second place....
Yesterday only kallis cross avg of 57 and sachin's avg is 56.5.....
Kallis also took 270 wickets in test cricket.....
kallis score 11900 runs in test cricket.......
he is far better than sachin in performance.....
he is down to earth and low profile.....he is not overhyped by media as well.....
He is only of 35 years.....
i wish he will break record of sachin of most runs i test cricket......
he is playing for country not for record like sachin.......
we are indian so it is difficult to digest but this is fact......
he is true legend........
sachin is playing for money and for record......
he cut the cake on which indian flag so he disrespect country........
sachin is real begger......sachin begged for tax waiver on his ferrari to indian government........shivsena people was collecting one rs from each to give for sachin begger…….it is real shame
sachin also tampered ball and he was fined for that.......it is black spot on sachin’s career…..

I fully agree. Kallis must have scored more centuries than Sachin, but he played as per need of the team and could not make more but he is truelly GEM.

Kallis will now play only to break sachins record. And that will lead to his downfall. Sachin was not chasing anyones record, but kallis will now chase sachin

Guys, just try to imagine and feel the pressure sachin is whenever he comes to bat. Everybody expects lots from him and wants him to prove that he is best. How does he handle this pressure is amazing. Does kallis has so much pressure

KALLIS
by jagadish ht on Jan 06, 2011 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

Kallis is any day a better cricketer than Tedulkar. He will exceed Tendulkar.s centuries by 2012. In the 51 tons that Tendulkar made, how many matches have India won. Very little. Even in Laxman.s case, we have won more matches when he scored a ton.

Kallis may overtake Tendulkar marginally in Tests. However, there is a drastic difference in ODIs.

You don't just consider test averages, test centuries or number of test runs to rate a cricketer.

Records are meant to be broken and I am sure Sachin's test records will be broken sometime in the future. But Sachin's ODI records are hard to overtake.

Overall, Sachin is ahead of the rest.

Jagdish, kid , what you know about cricket ? Have you ever held a bat in hand ?
For yur inforamtion, out of 51 tons SRT has made , 20 times India has won the matches and 16 times India could draw the match, thus helped by the Master Blaster to avoid defeat of India. Only 13 times India has lost the match , inspite of a ton by SRT & shear poor show of other 10 players including great batsmen in the team that time. Do you know , cricket is a game of a team and not of any individual.

HOW MANY TIMES IN YOUR CAREER HAVE YOU DONE THINGS WHICH HAS REALLY MADE AN IMPACT. LETS MAKE AN RETROSPECTION BEFORE CRITICIZING OTHERS. IS THERE ANYTHING CALLED PLAYING RECORDS? YOU CAN ONLY PLAY YOUR NATURAL GAME AND NOT PLAY EXCLUSIVELY FOR RECORDS. HOW MANY MEDALS AND TROPHIES HAVE YOU WON DURING YOUR SCHOOL DAYS OR COLLEGE PLAYING ANY SPORT!!??

We have won matches when Sachin scored centuries. Only problem is majority of them were either against Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and SriLanka on dead batting wickets where Sachin was not the only one to score. There will be 3 other centurions in that game at least.

If you take those games away, we have won less then 30% of matches against quality opposition on good pitches when Sachin scored 100 like in Aus, SA or England.

on the comments on jaya i would like to remind that it is the bowlers who win the matches.for winning the match 20 wickets are to be taken.batsmen lay the foundation only for that.So to compare any win with Kallis or Tendulkar,s performances is rubbish. Both Tendulkar and Kallis are no doubt great players who contributes a lot for their own team but the winning or losing depends upon the wholeteam and not on indivdual. It is childish to say who is greater. If you have to compare the performances then naturally you have to take into consideation all the statical data on the basis of which Tendulkar is at present the greatest batsman whose records speak for himself.Kallis is a great allrounder and thus his performance may be compared with Sir Gary Sobers, Keith Miller Ian Botham or Kapil Dev. Tendulkar has scored 51 centuries and the century does not come easily. For this physical and mental toughness are required in a player. If zimbabe and Bangladesh are very easy team then every body should score century against them. You should know that India lost its match to Zimbawe in world cup when Tendulkar had to come back due his father,s death that shows so much dependency had been on him.D.N.Gupta

Who's who of test cricket III
by sanjay on Jan 06, 2011 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

What we have and we dont..

Highest scores of Indian batsman in fourth innings
on non subcontinental pitches in won or drawn match
( Knocks above 50)

Laxman one knock only
63 Warner Park, west indies

Sehwag one knock only
65 Warner Park, west indies

Sachin one knock only
119* England Manchester

Dravid five knocks
103* New Zealand Hamilton
87 vs South Africa other important knock

Dhoni one knock only
76* England Lord's

Gambhir nil

and bowlers ? we have seen yesterday

Interestingly
Kallis 101 against Australia in Melbourne in a drawn match

Bowlers do win test matches
and we even struggle to take 20 wickets...

Good Analysis Friend, You should do one for 3rd Innings of the Tests too, its a critical phase too where either you are growing the lead you have or chipping away at the deficit and not allow the opposition to run away with the game. I can think of Two Gems from Laxman right away perth 2007-08 and Durban in this series

Did Bradman make it to the ODI dream team?

Secondly, that was a list selected by the public a majority of who are Indians. This is how Sachin gets hyped by all these false polls.

Moreover, we are talking about Tests here since this is a test series.

Get ur facts rite Jaya S..there can never be a question of including sir don in ODI dream team coz he never played ODI cricket..he just played test cricket and that too against a few opponents in a few countries..Sachin, on the other hand, has not only played 150 tests but also close to 400 ODIs..so u can compare the workload..and on top of that..Sachin has always played with the burden of expectations of people like u who start writing him off if he fails in one inning!

Sachin has got 30000 plus international runs and 97 International tons and you say Sachin is a hype.

i too agree with the gentlemen/lady describing kallis greater than sachin, because kallis apart from being a batsman with nearly 12,000 runs he has over 300 tests wickets too.that means whether SA are batting or bowling, kallis is playing a very big role in his country's performance.that requires tremendous physical endurance, mental concentration, & when kallis has even after this continued to give superlative performances with both bat & bowl for over 15 years, he is surely the greatest all time cricketer.

@Biswanath. It is time all of us open our eyes and recognize Kallis as the best cricketer of all time.
You need to add that he has over 160 catches and 2nd in the list of all time catches. Sachin is one dimensional cricketer with only one shot which is an edge over wicketkeeper.
