Kallis and Tendulakar

both are gem of CRICKET. You can not compare them on the basis of individual record because both of them played with different team and in different circumstances which matters a lot in international cricket. Lots of people here say Sachin has played for money not for country etc and Kallis has. If that is so what happened to him in World Cup 99 and World Cup07 semifinals against Australia in spite of a back up of good team and bowling unit.
If you check his record against Aussies it’s far below than his overall record (40.58 I guess). But that does not mean that he is average player. It’s d team, circumstances and individual form that plays a big part.
Watching both Kallis and Tendulakar is nothing less than a treat and hats off to both of this players. For failures it’s the overall team that should be blamed not individual. For India it’s mainly our bowling unit whether it’s this match or world cup final 03 or in most of the heart breaks of Indian Cricket.

Kallis is better...

Kallis is ANY TIME better than Tendulkar.
with around 12000 Test Cricket Runs and 278 Wickets in Test he is certainly BETTER than Sachin.
The Fact is SACHIN IS NOT "Head and Shoulder Ahead" of others BUT AT PAR with Dravid and Pointing and trailing Kallis...

don't rate cricketers by their innings when they are in form. The greatest is one who can perform better even in their bad patch and against every opponents.

Tendulkar better than Kallis
by Rabri Devi on Jan 06, 2011 11:30 AM  | Hide replies

simply because Tendulkar has to face Steyn and Morkel while Kallis has to face Ishant Sharma. Case over.

ICC's Dream Team
by mangesh mhatre on Jan 06, 2011 11:18 AM  | Hide replies

It is sufficient for me to know that Sachin has been consistently found his place in ICC's dream team.
Others will come & go. (Even Shane Warne was excluded ! One day Punter also will be excluded, but Sachin will always be there.)
The team is chosen not only by Indians. So always keep in mind how great Sachin is.

Keep on blabbering about he being selfish & scoring when team is not winning? But true judgement comes from selectors world over.

Only sad thing about him is he has been target of internal politics so many times, but still he has shown his metal.

It depends that a player belogns to which country.Take example of Lara, Chandrapaul ; inspite they have good record, they are not hilighted. If same support was there for Lara he would have surely broken all the records.
