This kind of world cup is a joke where there are 8 teams seriously playing and the format is so designed not to miss any of these enter QF.
So they could have started with QF's directly instead of these pointless matches against Minnows.
This also shows how the game is dying.. ICC is not able to spread the game effectively. And only sub-continent teams are serious about playing the game. Rest of the nations are moving to some other serious sports like football.

even in football world cup , only 10 nations are seriously contenders for the world cup , the rest are there just for the sake of participation , check the odds for the other teams teams to win the world cup and you will realize ,

FYI, I have played cricket since my childhood and have played for my college as well at the UV level.
I too was an ardent fan of cricket but since last 5-6 years took some time for other sports as well. This made me realize how cricket is over-hyped in the sub-continent [ similar to SuperBowl in US]..
Please come to the point.. never be personal. I don't want to ask you whether you have played cricket or not.
use the IPL formula, top 8 teams play 2wce, top 4 go in for seim, final 2... please dont keep the gap of more than 3 days... this should be done... its the best formula
I totally agree with Punter on his views about 'miniatures' in the world cup (although I'm a staunch critic of his captaining abilities). These teams just destroy the charm and excitement, although there has been some cases like Kenya beating West Indies and Ireland beating Pakistan but by and large the cases are very rare. Look at the results of recent matches....they are nothing but a extremely monotonous. Even the respective countries supporters don't want to support their team and come to the ground because they know what is going to happen with their Team against the big boys ! I think enough is enough and ICC has taken the right step to reduce the team to just 10 in the next world cup and let these teams try their luck in 20-20 WC because they have better chances of winning in 20-20 format compare to longer one day format.
All these time i was wishing India to win WC but after seeinf unpsportsman like attitude of people I wish INDIA and AUS should come to finals and AUS should win the cup..that will be the real justice for hard working team..
these team should be allowed to play in world cup,otherwise how will tendulkar score century or make record,he can score or make records against lteams like this,or how he will survive

Dont agree,it is like belittling sachin tendulkar.He has scored centuries agaINST ALL THE TEST PLAYING COUNTRIES.

agreee with u .... maybe they should try and play 2 or 3 matches everyday...such a long worldcup with pointless matches is extremely boring...
