It's better to have minnows in T-20 WC.

1992 WC format was very good where 9 teams played each other in round robin matches and top 4 qualified foe semi final

in round robin each team play with another team once whereas in group system teams wont play with another teams of the group if it fail to qualify for 2nd round

Just need good game in a world cup and not the one sided game like yesterday.
But the name 'World Cup' seems to be not correct in that case

giving 280 runs against bangladesh is a serious matter for Team india.
Other teams are happy to see this, mainly SA and ENG,,,we have one more underdog in our Gropu e.g WI

team selection was not proper

in sub continent conditions 3 indian pacers can not complete their quata of ovs

rather ind should pick 2 pacers,2 spinners and part timers

you really have no clue about Team India. Indians will always be consistent in one thing. And that is the INTENSITY_OF_VICTORY. They would treat all teams with equality. As for them, there is no difference between the minnows and the more fancied teams like Australia, SA etc. Be it what ever team they play, the margin of victory would always be consistent.

MFWF:

Good observation and excellent point.

Indian players vary their INTENSITY based on who they are playing against. So whereas a New Zealand demolishes a minnow within 32 overs, we still extend the match as if we were playing a full blown WC contender team .. :)

sorry pseudo
but bangladesh are not a minnow anymore , atleast not in the league of zimbabwe , kenya , canada , netherlands.
they are more than capable of giving tough fights to strong teams in shorter formats of the game , there cricket has vastly improved over the years thanks to an organized domestic structure.

Minnows are part of every world cup be it football or cricket , they are part of wimbeldon as well , in wimbeldon there are at times 4-5 rounds till the finals but the battle is mostly between 4-5 ginats.

They are only here to bring the popularity into the game otherwise Cricket World Cup will lose its charm and will only be called 6 Nations cup like in Rugby etc.

and why are the minnows at football world cup? for the same purpose only , everyone knows that teams like honduras , chile , switzerland , south africa , greece , nz , aus are not gonna win the world cup , they are minnows .
but they are given qualification just for the sake of making the tournament look more gloal which it isnt , no asian team deserves to be in the world cup

the countrymen of Honduras, Chile, Switzerland, SA etc., would at least be eagerly looking forward to every match their country plays in FIFA Cup irrespective of the fact whether they would be able to lift the cup, unlike in Cricket Cup, where forget about people, whether Canadian Governemtn or Holland Govt knows that their countries are participating lol Isnt it a big farce?

there you are bringing in the popularity factor , yes the honduras , chile , switz goevrnment and people are very involved because football is a popular game in those countries , but they are not competitive nations , , they are like zimbabwe and kenyas of cricket , teams like brazil , germany , argentina can win over them 9 times in 10 matches , u check the odds between these matches.

why so much emphasis on the word " qualification" ? Look mate take for example teams as honduras and north korea , do you think these teams are a serious contender on fifa map? dont you think they are minnows ? please check the odds for zimbabwe winning the cricket world cup and korea winning the fifa world cup , both odds will be same,
north korea were beaten 8-0 by portugal , u think they are there for giving tough competition to rets of the nations or just for the sake of making the tournament look bigger?

What is the point of playing Canada playing with all these NRIs of Indian/Bengla/Srilanka origin when the people in Canada themselves are not following the sport, what is the point of playing then when the home country itself does not care for the game.

I know that they are not hired by Canada and they have been living long there. Just see in the World Cup how many players of Indian origin have you seen playing for other nations, leave the World Cup see the league matches how many Indian players have you seen playing in EPL, Bundesliga, Spanish League etc.

But atleast North Korea came out of an Asian group which consisted of teams like Saudi Arabia,Iraq,Bahrain which have failed to qualify....Also North korea drew against d tough Brazil team which is almost equivalent of Kenya defeating NewZealand....Even Holders Italy had to play all matches of qualification and barely managed to scrape through to the WC finals

Here,we have a team called Canada full of Indians and Pakistanis...Kenya's score is achieved within 8 overs...Dont you think we need to ahve a qualification tournament to bring d best teams to the World cup..not just Douchebags to be punched.....
This tournament is kept only to have more matches...collect more gatereceipts and ad money.....Sports is not at all given any preference in this corrupt ICC board....

to gain international experience , and look if no1 in canada cared about cricket then they wont even bother about forming a cricket federation and look to fund the teams expenses to the world cup , the game is a minority sport in canada , and the guys u see playing are canadian nationals ,
its not like canada hired indians to play cricket , there families are living in canada past many years .

India has an easy way to win the World Cup

f you look at the players playing Cricket for Canada almost all of them are of Asian Origin. Why not India do the same, hire some foreign players from each part of the World and give them Indian Citizenship and money and they will one day bring the Football World Cup to India and then we can celebrate rejoice like anything.

that's because of the tough competition involved in the game, every nation in the World wants to lift the World Cup but the competition and the skills involved are so intense. Strength, Stamina, Stability are required to play football.

Different skills and technique is required to play every sport , football is a game dominated by 10 odd nations while cricket is a game dominated by 6-7 nations , the only difference is football has more minnows.
