The way we lost
by Stanley Dantas on Aug 23, 2011 12:53 AM

Excusessssssss,Professionals do not give them.
Mr Dhoni we are not as much hurt and unhappy about the loss, but the way we lost. The fit guys except for Dravid did not give a fight. If Mishra gave a fight and score, pls justify why were the others not able to even survive, leave alone score....the lack of commitment.

Dont surrender but needs to be assertive in the future
by Nikhil Shah on Aug 23, 2011 12:50 AM  | Hide replies

One of the reason's India lost its number 1 ranking is because it lost ranking points against the WI in games they should have won that way keep some margin just incase.

Dhoni to begin with was not assertive in New Zealand where an obvious late declaration caused the result to be 1-0 instead of 2-0.

Same thing is in WI tour where a 3-0 or 2-0 test series win would be more comfortable just to keep a safe margin.

Another thing Dhoni needs to enforce is his choice of bowlers. Jaidev in the SA tour, RP Singh in the England tour?

Also Raina, Yuvraj and some extent Virat have played too much ODI cricket and after 29 balls Raina gets out on a duck. Not a good choice.

With Rahane and Varun, India will start a new ERA in cricket and for God's sake please give the new ball to Varun, instead of Praveen.

BCCI must be serious in order for India to keep their test rank.

The big 3 of india are the last of the old guard when there was not T20 or IPL.

The new players are the ones playing all sorts of competitions. This causes a deficiency in technique.
I am not sure why Gavaskar does not point this factor out in his commentary or to the BCCI. Is it because he has a contract with BCCI?

I do not see Rohit, with his laid back attitude doing any good to his test future.

Virat has some fire in him and he should be a good investment along with Pujara and maybe Badrinath.

Sachin- Bres
by cc man on Aug 23, 2011 12:47 AM  | Hide replies

Considering such poor performances against quality bowling on challenging pitches, it clearly evident that he should retire in the best interests of himself and aspiring young bloods.

But, Dravid, should be retained so that aspiring young crickets can learn the art of playing quality bowling on lively pitches that has seam, bounce, pace, swing, spin. Dravid always plays well against quality bowling.

Tendya is famous for flat track records and also he does not possess great balance of defense and aggression to score daddy hundreds like the likes of Dravid,Cook,Bell,Lara,Kallis,Sehwag.

Tendulkar has scored more run aborad on bouncy tracks. So get your facts right before you criticize. It was only recently that Dravid failed to perform in the entire series against a top team. So do some research, find out which country it was, then talk.

Ashish, his comments are not made out of facts. Maybe there is an ulterior motive.
Anyway, Cook and Bell got their career highest 294 and 235 against the ragged, lousy bowling attack of India in this series.

Kallis' highest is only 201. That too against India if i am not mistaken.

Lara is an exception. dRAVID was acught out in the SA tour. Surely you cannot judge a player on one series, can you?

And Sehwag surely has nowhere the technique as SRT.

Falling down is not a shame
by Ashish Sharma on Aug 23, 2011 12:47 AM

Every team around the world has lose badly some time or the other. It happened to teams like Australia and West Indies as well. The point is to take lessons from the failure and bounce back once again to be on top, which Indian team is very much capable of.

just one match or series cannot decide Dhoni's fate
by Mohammed G on Aug 23, 2011 12:47 AM  | Hide replies

This is not fair, he should be given fair chance to play since he has already proved. It's not required for him to do so this is just single series common India we must support him and he is still young. He can bring in more cups...

Please play IPLs all year....

who cares for tests anymore. Ask Sachin, Sehwag, Zaheer, Yuvraj and Gambhir. What is more important? Tests, rest, recovering from injuries or playing IPL's thousand matches over tests at any cost?

I agree, Lets get serious. It is a win-win situation for everyone. 20:20 is lot more exciting and cricketer make good money playing it. I think they are just waiting for some old timer influential cricketers ex. Geoff Boycott, to retire from cricket for "good", before these test matches end.
