its ok for the ex cricketers to say, we must groom young players, but who do they replace ? are dravid, laxman and sachin willing to retire..so much was said about "we need to win wc for sachin"..what for? is he retiring? will he retire at all.. is that possible in this life time.. i am great fan of him..but when the time is up..it is up and we can see that..

Yes, because he is only waiting to make 100 Tons. No matter how long he will wait for that may be another 20 years! It is called 'Record'? If you play for such endless time, you will surely make such huge RECORD . But it should be time bound and not endless...!!! Retire now peacefully and get respect.
Indian Player need rest for atleast SIX months so that injuries comes to heal.. And after that Play some Domestic cricket or County cricket for Couple of months.. So that they could be ready for International cricket........
We have lost the ongoing tests with increasing margins and the last test may not be better.
Our test cricketers know their job better and need no advice. Do they really care for their reputation or doing justice to the fat match fees?
It seems they have taken us for a dance where they can choose to be in or out of the series at their will.
I never expected Rahul Dravid dropping so many sitters . having grabed those catches, he would have created alltime record which he already holds, and very difficult to be brokan.
No .One Spot can be regained as we would have a busy schedule ahead.
Indian Batsmen are finding it to difficult to differentiate among 20-20, Onedayers and Test Criket. With the lot of cricket they are playing throughout the year, this is becoming very hard to realize that test cricket requires patience and should not llok for shots which they manufacture in 20-20 and onedayers. With 400 plus runs behind, Indians should should have applied themeselves to wardoff the 180 odd overs atleast to save the defeat. Every batsmen instead of concenetrating on the strike rate should have spent the time between the wicjets consuming the overs for which they should have idolized Gavaskar, Boycott etc.,
Just like we appreciate players with national honors and awards we have to have a system for systematically assessing and stripping of if necessary some of those honors if the players (if they are still playing) and fall from grace and bring insult to the country due to non performance. And the stripping should be made public as well. That way we can atleast safegaurd the sanctity of those Padmasree, Padma vibhushan and Arjuna Awards. It will also keep the players on toes and if not, quickly and gracefully walk off before a risk of honour stripping hits at them..
Now this No.1 crown looks fit to well-deserved team. India will lose this series 4-0 for sure, Next 4-0 series defeat will be handed over by Australians at end of this year down under.
This is perhaps the most lopsided test series of the two top ranked teams. India the NO.1 team were absolutely thrashed/masacred.the margins of defeats kept on increasing by each test and matches were finished inside 4 days. So this is surely not aclimatisaiton problem. Culprits Sachin, Laxman, Raina, Gambhir, Ishant, Shreesanth, Harbhajan. U dont win matches when 6-7 players out of 11 dont perform. No.1 team shud be ruthless like Aus & now England, most of tests are result oriented. No doubt the results would be different when Eng. tour India but it would at the most be a drawn series or 1-0 in favour of India and thats the difference. When v were No.1 v shuld have blanked the oppositions at least in our own country like v r now treated in Eng. or in the past in Australia. Eng. bolwers got out our great batsemen who have played more than 100 tests on all days be it day 1,2,3,4 or 5 but the pitch suddenly becomes different to our bowlers and they pile on 700 runs. No Eng. player plays the IPL and all the Indian players play the IPL yet Eng. are scoring at a brisk rate while the Indians are finding it difficult to score. Playing IPL shud have helped but on the contrary it has helped Eng. Alarm bells were ringing long ago but have been heard now only. All the bowlers, excpet Zaheer are struggling for long but v kepton either drawing or occasionly winning. Bhajji is not performing for almost 2 years. Mind u a 5 wicket haul for 100 odd runs is not gud bowling. Who is to bl
It's time test players play in Longer version of the game at home like ranji or Irani rather than money making IPLs ODIs etc otherwise we will continue to be on the downward spiral.
