Kumble- fighter
by praful pawar on Aug 14, 2011 11:17 AM  | Hide replies

Mr. Kumble gave a word of half hearted consolation to die hard indan fans, when he said in HT sunday edition that all is not lost as India had been in such sitaution before. But then, Mr. Fighter seems to be suffering from Selective amnesia, becoz he must remember that in the past India was neither the 50 Overs world champions nor had the no.1 status ranking in the 5 days test version and the expectations from such side is low. But, when you are the world champions in both versions of cricket and such ignominous fall from top place is painful to say the least.

Indian crickteers are the top paid lot among the breed, in the entire world because of the popularity and patronisation by the Indian public. they felt the top paid are the top in the game too. the results should bring them to ground and reality.

Stop IPL
by Rozario on Aug 14, 2011 11:06 AM  | Hide replies

All the players are concerned only about money fetching IPL and not bothered about test cricket. IPL can get them more endorsements and commercials.
Stop IPL, we will see, they all strive hard to get to the test side by reducing their waistline, improving their fielding and focusing on batting and bowling techniques.

u are correct It is BCCI who should take corrective steps and ensure that TEST players are not playing IPL and compensate them suitably, moneywise. Test class players should be identified and nurtured properly. I feel that Yuvaraj, Raina and Gambhir are not test class players. let them concentrate in ODI and 20-20. We need players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Badri who have technique, patience and will to play long innings. BCCI should step in the take suitable action. No accouontability whatsoever for selectors,Physios and coaches and administrators. Whenever we lose, we start blaming players. No point in blaming players.

1 million percent right... as long as we do not stop his overkill of IPL and free some time in calendar..situation will not change.. why was not IPL finished in 1 month to free time and allow 3 practice matches in england before series started... why main test team was not sent to west indies...where is the priority... IPL MONEY or pride of the country...the results are utter humilation.. and even that is an understatement...BCCI is a sham..they are the biggest corrupt body in this country.. direct Ana Hazare to start the revolution against BCCI first.. he is not going to get a better platform for corruption...

Eng
by Abhijit Nair on Aug 14, 2011 10:21 AM  | Hide replies

This is the way to get to top.Just demolish the so called and current No.1 .Absolutely fantastic,
do not just win by scrapping through , come and thrash the hell out of the team ranked 1 before the series.
It was very enjoyable seeing England win as they keep winning many tests in a series as compared to India who are happy with winning just one match in a series

Cowards did not even make an attempt to make a run chase against West Indies. They deserved to be thrashed.

I agree with you, but did you go ga-ga when this team won cups and tests and test series? The fact is, this is not a war that countries win or lose. Indian players are playing for themselves and the BCCI, which is not a Government body.

I never gave credit to Dhoni for India's win. He is just an overhyped fool.

Useless Dhoni
by Cool Guy on Aug 14, 2011 09:45 AM  | Hide replies

All the media, especially Hindi media hyped him saying that he is the best captain, Captain Cool, Dabanng Captain, etc. He got all the praise for the work done by the team members. Media was propagating as if all the wins were due to Dhoni and not because of the team.
Now suddenly he has lost the series due to poor form and injury of key players and suddenly Dhoni's captaincy looks just ordinary. In this series many times Dhoni had a chance to attack but he chose not to and allowed Eng to get away.

Is it not good to expect that Dhoni should win all matches. When India is winning we all appreciate Dhoni's Captaincy when we are defeated by a good team we never digest that is bad.

IF DHONI WAS WINNING FOR INDIA NOW WHAT HAPPEND TO HIM WHY HE LOST NOT ONE BUT THREE TEST IN ROW. PROBLEM IS THAT MORE THEN 50% CRICKET FOLLOWERS OF INDIA DO NOT SEE REAL ASPECT OF THE GAME AND TECH ISSUES. ALL THOSE TEST MATCHES INDIA WAS WINNING ABROAD AND SOME AT HOME WERE WON BECAUSE OF OUR TRIO WITH SEHWAG WERE PLAYING BRILLIANTLY AND WHEN ZAHEER BOWLS AND TAKE WICKETS OTHER BOWLERS ALSO PERFORM WELL SO EVERYTHING COMES IN PLACE FOR INDIAN TEAM AND THEY GAVE GOOD RESULTS IT WAS NOT DHONI WHO WAS GIVING INDIA ALL THOSE SUCCESSES ALONE. YOU CAN NOT NOT CHOOSE A VERY VERY ORDINARY PLAYER LIKE SURESH RAINA WHO CAN NEVER PLAY IN TEST BECAUSE OF HIS VERY POOR TECH. WHEN HE CAN'T PLAY SWAN HE CAN'T PLAY SHORT PITCH RISING BALL HOW COULD YOU TAKE SUCH PLAYERS IN TEST SIDE. IT IS GOOD THAT INDIA LOST OTHER WISE THEY WOULD KEPT SLEEPING.
