Just because he is playing cricket doesn't mean he has to be given Bharat Ratna. First of all people should know that cricket is a team game and only some 10 countries are only playing that game in the whole universe so it is not a big thing and he is being paid for that not just one or two rupees but crores of rupees so he didn't do a big thing to be coveted with a Bharat Ratna which is a honourable award and if some people are asking for it and the Government should not fall such pressure.
Chess is the only game where no luck is involved. One mistake and the championship is lost1 It is an individual game and not a team game. No one can help a chess player.
Cricket is a team game and SRT needed other players to score his centuries. He is not an individual playing alone in cricket.
Sachin has only 20 years of service to the sport. So he has to start coaching, start some academy, give his best until 60 or so and then probably the Govt will consider.
It is too premature to talk about BR for Sachin. There are very many people who have served this nation for 20 years in the most prolific manner.
in a country where thousands go hungry everyday,where millions are homeless,do not have clean water to drink,no health-care,value of human-life is almost nil-we talk about 'bharat ratna' for a individual's sporting achievement...we love Sachin,but ...this country needs to do more for the avg. citizen instead of idol-worshipping celebs or sportspersons and letting our country run by thief's....

for any topic, this can be a reply. have you started leading Gandhian life and stopped spending on non-necessary things and helping so many causes u listed? What connection it has with giving Bharat Ratna viz a viz the problems you mentioned? dont be so cynical abt everything
award is given for the highest degree of national service... what national service did nelson mandela and gafoor khan and amartya sen did for india... and for that matter what service of highest degree was done by most of the politicians who have been given this award... most of them were corrupt... as for service to nation of highest degree is concerned... who better person than sachin for that...
