For sachin,with Annual Income 60 crores .. it is easy to "Manage" Bharat Ratna . Besides this, Vishy Anand - Brahmin ,will find it difficult to get supporters for BR. Sachin - OBC has much higher chances of even changing the rules. BR for sachin is NOT Far away NOT because he deserves it BUT for having Financial/political/media support.

well Sandip, MSS was 15 yrs when she sung Vandemateram in an open areana in the British rule.. i guess u would have gone to the toilet rather than do such a thing..
Now that you have put some valid and legitimate hurdle for Conferring Bharat Ratna to Mr. Tendulkar, there would be clamour from some sections that Mr. Tendulkar's Batting is also a form of Art. So, a Big Head Ache for the nation to resolve this issue.
I am astonished to read that Constitutional expert Subhash Kashyap says given the current rules "Tendulkar does not qualify for the honour and giving the award to him would require a change in the rules."
In India it is commen that rule makers are alwaysd rule breakers, if rule is to change to give Bharat Ratan to Sachin Ramesh tedulkar, it will not more great thing. Moreover Sachin is deserved to receive the Bharat Award looking to his records, his speech for Desh Bhakati. Now, it is to be decded by the Congress , who to change the rules .

If excellence in any field in India is the criteria,Tendulakar deserves it more than any one else....Even though as a sport cricket has little following except in a few countries Tendulkar still equals the best in any sports in terms of commitment,discipline and above all humility.I think he deserves it.
what so great work has he done for the country the cup that india won is a team effort so did kapil dev sachin has been paid for all his work he never does it free he lives in a manson in a country where millions are starvinf how much has he donated to the poor there are mcuh deserving who serve for the country sachin is minting money left, right & centre

it is a joke that experts quotw that sports is not a criteria but art,literature etc etc is gove always has flimsy excuses and unless people explode govt will not unederstand. govt can always find some excuse to honour soni with bharat(italian)ratna shame on these experts- when constitution can be amended and salaries of parlimentarians can be amended, award criteron cannot be???
