Secondly, sachin gets Match Fees for ODI and Test Match PLUS Endorsements from Big Compinies. One who gets millions of Dollars Endorsements Should NOT Get BharatRatna. Country BY NO Means Gets anything from sachin worth to be called BharatRatna. Sachin Should NEVER GET BR as he has Done Nothing for country.

They have done but for a very little elite ones...Saching has done for a mass much deprived ones. Even they will acknowledge it.

The nations highest civil honour - the criteria apart has to be campaigned by one and all shows the sorry state of affairs .Not that the past 41, some of them in my view , do not deserve particularly those who got based on caste . All the same the criteria should be very clear and the committee if one ,people must have total trust which is obviously missing - otherwise so much compaign is not required .Even noble prize we know what sort of goof up they make - the last being one given to President Obama - there was such a huge disagreement . all the same the public should not start comaign for such honour .
Frankly Tendulkar does not qualify for the honour () in 1954 Bharat Ratna was institutionalized for exceptional contribution in the fields of art, literature, science and social service.Sports has not been included in this... () No doubt sachin is a great player and has made us proud.. But, we should not forget other players like viswanathan Anand, PT Usha, etal have also made us even more proud.More over cricket not our national sport.. for One person we cannot change the rule.. V Anand's achievements are certainly more than Sachin's achievements. Anand is a true world champion by winning in all formats of world championship. Moreover, Chess is played by the whole world including Superpower US, former superpower Russia and emerging superpower China. So before honouring Sachin shouldn't we think of V Anand?

Really, no one other than an Indian thinks that Vishwanthan Anand is the greatest chess player ever. Have you heard of the names like Kasparov, Karpov, Fisher etc.?
Even if USA, Russia, China plays cricket, India would still dominate cricket in the coming years because India is a cricket crazy nation, thanks to Mr. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar.
Also, Anand himself recommended Sachin's name for Bharat Ratna. So, stop arguing, Anand needs to accomplish a lot more before being compared to Tendulkar, who is widely recognized as the best batsman all over the world while it is not the case with Anand.
While it is commendable what Anand had accomplished, Anand is good, but Sachin is great.

In the first place, the avg Indian is obsessed and flooded with CRICKET; period. Just look around and there are 100 different sports equally (if not better) engrossing. Tennis, football, hockey.... Indians are being drowned in the name of cricket and the match-makers are laughing their way to the bank, Tax exemptions and Bharat Ratna?!!

Grand Master Vishwanathan Anand knows that in our country only Cricket is a game and the other sports persons are neglected by the people and also by the Government and that is why he also suggested Sachin's name. this shows his displeasure with the government.

Absolutely, Cricket is an art, it is more skillful than singing, playing sitar and making movies. Also, you sweat a lot (more than [do you sweat at all while] singing and playing sitar) when you perform an art like cricket.
