cricket is now 15000 crore market but how many jobs can be created for Indians as we find IPL has facination towards western countries whose economic conditions are in down turn ,Is IPL want to save those down economy of other countries -I mean apart from players how many of Indians can be recruited in each franchisees in different capacities .I think Mukesh Ambani can play a big role by creating some kind of Industrial status of IPL as I think he is only person doing on this line along with Sharukh Khan as well for KKR .Let us hope IPL creates millions of job in line with IT revolutions of 90s .I have some thoughts on this line 1.Create seperate stadium in four Metros only -need 20000 crore-2000 direct and 1 lakh indirect employments to maintain the stadium
2. Create seperate Security sytems for each stadium -1 lakh seperate force in line with NSG
3. Each Fanchisee need to run as seperate company -1 lakh employments in diffeerent capacilies including opening of retail stores for selling their own products like sports gears ,FMCG products ,tickets 4. All BPOs can be benifitted for marketing and selling all products of franchisee -direct employment of 10 lakh 5. Each Franchisee will have seperate management team of 100 each with CEOs 6. There will be indirect employments of 10 lakh for all kind of logistic suplies, canteen ,food items etc
Roberts once said that all the world's frustrated and under achievers would use internet as a medium to convey their frustrations...
Guys get a life!! Dont get jealous just coz you have not achieved anything. IPL is making India famous and is the 3rd largest sporting event as per NYT

Sachin:
;-)..... Roberts didn't say anything about NYT? :)
Anyway, since NYT is something you clearly don't have any problems with, I will leave you to bask in the IPL glory without any unnecessary disturbance.... :)
What's more, I'll also - to keep you humoured - declare something which NYT singularly failed to do.... IPL is not just the 3rd but THE largest "sporting" event in the world.... :)
P.S.: In making this analysis, I've kept out events like the Olympics, FIFA world cup, F1 racing, EPL, Wimbledon, Cricket World Cup etc. which have nothing to do with "sports".... ;-)
Its obvious IPL is a copy of ICL.The reason ICL was not successful was because of the lack of coperation with the BCCI and ICC.The ICC is almost run by India and Australia.I don't see much difference between IPL and ICL.Anyway we all ought to give it to Mr.Modi.Every IPL has had its share of controversies and the ultimate winner was IPL.It was his idea and every year he seems to have some new idea and it is working. The proof for that is the amount of money the BCCI is generating out of IPL.
He very well knows that India is cricket mad country and people would go to any extend to pay and watch cricket. The game starts at about 6:30 and finishes by 9,what more can you want. Many serials are also going to suffer as their ratings are surely going to pulmet during this season.Whether cricket in improving in India or not,at the end of the day everybody is happy. The players get a huge check, just for playing couple of weeks.Organizers get lot of income from the game. The saddest part is the sport is not improving and no good is done for the game.

I dont know why is cripping for making bigger or smaller, he vows a lot to Zee Subhash for borowing ICL idea and converting in to IPL with political muscle, just an example IPL w/o foreign player will have no takers, may be equivalent to Ranji/Duleep tropy His thought are ETOPIAN never comes in reality
IPL is already lost its charm. There is no passion in the regional teams because it is mainly composed of imported players. And a team playing well depends on the money they invest on imported players. Atleast tournaments like Ranji trophy are genuine and composed of local talent.
Hence IPL is a total failure. It is just like a club match. The passion from the spectators will come down gradually.

Buddy I also thought so when IPL first started, but the passion and interest has only increased as it is just like a family outing. No point in expecting it to fail when we can see the huge number of spectators watching it in the stadium and on TV. Also, the franchisees are not stupid enough to invest such a huge sum if they are sure of the returns.

But yes, i agree that teams having inform foreign players tend to do well, than the indian players which is sad. It only shows the lack of quality in our players, specially the quick bowlers. There are no quick bowlers in india.

u are wrong, delhi and chennai are the best performing teams and most of them have been so because of good indian players
