Not Playing For Records
by Baikaar on Dec 31, 2010 01:25 PM  | Hide replies

Of the VVS Laxaman’s 13 crucial, brave, selfless and fighting knocks (mostly in 2nd innings) nine brought India victories, four saved it from humiliating defeats. In Durban he proved again that playing like Tendulkar for records can never bring succor and cheer to Indian fans, not even 50 or 100 centuries by any Tom, Dick & Harry.

Durban is great, but
by RKN on Dec 31, 2010 02:33 AM  | Hide replies

Durban is classic win becaz of VVS and Collective effort from bowlers. Now it is time for the Indian top order to collectively put some decent scores on the board to make the series more interesting.

Cricket is much higher and bigger than your individual greats. 7-8 match winners in a team will do wonders than a team having 7-8 greats.
lol@your cricketing brain :P

Please provide the match winning performances of above said players
except McGrath as he is a bowler
Then compare
And also see contributions from other players in the team when they won the match

Great source of knowledge. Till this time I thought cricket is a team game and victories are earned through team effort and not individual effort.

dear rooney mathew, tomorrow u vl say the same to ur father also that, "past is past u hav don nthing for us, so kindly go die." all the g8s of cricket and media they keep on praisning sachin, so do u think they r all fools?? if u think so, then i must say u r the g8st fool in the world. ur brain is so small dats y u tend to 4get sachins contributions 4 indian cricket. still majority of the indians watch cricket just c sachin bats, they will stop watching cricket the day, he stops pling cricket. by the way can u mention the names of few so called young lions, name few who can replace sachin or lakshman.

Yes i agree with u Praveen. wt critics are forgetting is that Cricket is a team game giving roles to each Individual. Likewise Sehwag and Gambhi (openers)has the role to lay a strong foundation. Rahul, Sachin (Middle order) has the role to steady, stabilise and consolidate the inning. Laxman, Pujara (lower middle order) has the role of providing better finishes to above twos. Subsequently role changes according to the match situation. Wt is important is that team India is playing perfectly and leading their roles individually. The film "SHOLEY" was hit because every body played thier role perfeclty, b it amitabh, gabbar or sambha. On cannot say dharmendra was better than sanjev kumar, or jaya was better than hema.

Thanks for the positive comment Priya!

Although I don't follow cricket but since I was born I have always heard of Sachin as a legend.

It hurts to see such blatant remarks about such a great personality!

It is like bad mouthing dhyanchand for hockey, milkha singh and P.T Usha for track and field etc

Such talents are born once in decades and I feel the whole India should be proud of such people for bringing focus and praise to our country.

Zen & Sachin
by ashok rengasamy on Dec 30, 2010 08:49 AM

An young man wanted to learn the art of meditation approached a Zen master. The master said it is very simple, " Donot think of a cat when you are meditating," The student started to practice. It was more easier said than done. The picture of the cat always came in front. Like wise if they want to discuss cricket, Sachin always come to their mind.
Sachin and Cricket at synonymous!

Why media coverage is more on Sachin?
by srinivas gopala on Dec 30, 2010 08:27 AM  | Hide replies

Four type of results possible
1. India wins and Sachin contributes: Media and fans will be all over sachin
2. India lose and Sachin scores well : Fans and Critics fight each other on sachin's contribution. Other things are kept aside
3. India lose and sachin fails : Critics will have a good day and they will be all over sachin to blame him for the failure. Again all other contributions are forgotten.
4. India wins and Sachin Fails : People praise the key contributors in the match and also add a comment or two about sachins failure

So Whatever may be the case Sachin will be remembered(positive or negative)

It is because every rwader wants attention, by writing something (mostly negative), its sure they will get attention.

Even a player like Sehwag has said that India should go for UDRS, but the BCCI shut him up.
