agreed, I think only best player of past one decade he would have missed is Anil Kumble.. Otherwise, this is the best team since 90s..
Re: Is Dhoni the best Cap

yes, without doubt, no other captain has been able to extract so much from his players before, especially from the bowlers who made us no. 1 in tests.
SA played real badly. Looks like they were playing as though they have forgotten how to play. To me it seems they were bit complacent since they got quite a few easy runs in the 1st test. They probably came to this match thinking there is no way India can dismiss the batting line up twice in the same match.
Credit to Indian team for taking the outstanding advantage of the situation and being smart about the whole situation. I feel that if this test match was played about 8-12 years ago, with the same exact situation and same condition, India would have lost it, because India used to always play emotionally and less professionaly. The body language now of the players are unbelievable. They were so relaxed and enjoying and their approach was fabolous. They were neither over excited or putting pressure on themselves. This is an outstanding thing to see since these sorts of victories are not flash in the pans or personal brillance, it seems like the overall process (training, planning, preparation, execution etc) has worked.
Take it from me, unless India throws it away or if there is some match fixing element involved, India cannot lose the 3rd test

I think Ashwel Prince was out lbw in harbajan's bowling, when he came for batting, but the appeal was turned down.. Even so in case of Paul harris once..
Re: Re: Choose the best cause for this Indian WIN
by MeetFireWithFire on Dec 29, 2010 10:28 PM
That was lower down the order and the damage is already been done considering the state of the match.
Re: Re: Re: Choose the best cause for this Indian WIN
by miviu on Dec 29, 2010 10:35 PM
Prince is a middle order batsman and scored well against India earlier.. in today's match also he remained not out on 39.. Though harris was out later,... one partnership of 70-80 could have given a different result, as it happened with VVS & ZAKs partnership..

compare the quality of players between DeVelliers, Boucher Vs Price and Harris and it will be clear who is at advantage by not employing UDRS
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Choose the best cause for this Indian WIN
by MeetFireWithFire on Dec 29, 2010 10:48 PM
Firstly Zaheer is not chasing runs under pressure. Thats totally a different proposition. It is clearly the BIG Decisions those of quality batters in De Velliiers and Boucher cost the match for South Africa
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Choose the best cause for this Indian WIN
by miviu on Dec 29, 2010 10:44 PM
what was the quality of Zaheer's batmanship... still he could bat with VVS for more than 20 overs and score valuable 27..., had one of their tailender clicked still we could have been in trouble.

It is also the same player who was the prime architect for INDIA to lose 20 ODI finals in the last 10 years including a WORLD CUP final.
It is the same player where most of all his innings (including the 200 not out) have either come when the score line read 200/1 in tests or it could be the NOTHING_TO_LOSE innings like those of Harbhajan Vs NZ or he would open the batting in ODIs with the best of batting friendly and fielding restricted conditions...

how can he be the architect to lose the match... then what other players were doing, if they are not doing anything means... it was literally Sachin vs other teams.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Choose the best cause for this Indian WIN
by MeetFireWithFire on Dec 29, 2010 10:56 PM
Its a myth that Sachin's fans to think if Sachin fails and India loses and what were other players doing?
Best example Nat West final 2002 when Sachin failed the score line read 146/4. India managed to win without Sachin.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Choose the best cause for this Indian WIN

what I understand from ur message is.. its wrong to think of other players performance, even if they fail miserably and regardless of Sachin's performance and result of the Match Sachin should be criticized.. My Q was against ur message at 10.37 PM, how he became architech of losing 20 finals, surprisingly what others were doing then... guess u understand what Iam asking, the Q came out of ur message only, hence guess u had some back up before putting it down here..

so how come he only becomes responsible for that? with Sachin India won many matches... what about them.. weren't they victory for India..

not that way. rather its, 2nd inngs - runs r scored under pressure. under deteriorating pitch.
