Sachin is a great cricketer
by Rahul Ponting on Nov 15, 2009 12:37 AM

Just not as great as his crazy obsessed think he is. Sir Donald Bradman is the greatest ever. No one will ever get close to having a career average of 99.94 again. Likewise you may never see anyone breaking Sachin's record in ODIs, at least not in the near future. Cricket Australia will not allow Ponting to play that long to break such a record. But in test cricket, we have already seen better batsmen than Sachin. There will be many Sachins in test in the future too. But there will never be another Bradman.

SACHINS SHARJAJ GREATNESS:
by rahul bajaaj on Nov 15, 2009 12:23 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin tendulkars famous knocks in Sharjah-1998 consisted of great bowlers like Kasparowiz, tom moody, Steve waugh etc ...... who combinedly had bowled less than 100 overs@#@#@# in ODI cricket........LOL.
Sachin played a desert storm against three these bowling greats..............

This is how much India has been dependent on SAchin
by Gaurav Gaddhyan on Nov 15, 2009 12:19 AM  | Hide replies

Tendulkar single-handedly won the ICC 1998 quarterfinal at Dhaka to pave way for India's entry into the semifinals, when he took 4 Australian wickets after scoring 141 runs in just 128 balls.
Set 310 runs to win, Australia were cruising comfortably at 3 for 203 in the 31st over when Tendulkar turned the match for India taking wickets of Michael Bevan, Steve Waugh, Darren Lehmann, Tom Moody and Damien Martyn for just 32 runs in 10 overs.

raina is the most overhyped player with no real contribution to speak of... yes india has more matchwinners now, but too much inconsistency is there in middle order... sehwag need to get out of 20-30 run zone etc...
btw...it seems u r in middle east.

Mr.Rahul,
Sachin need not score a triple century. It is not a yardstick for one greatness.
But, scoring a crucial 50 against a great team in an bouncy track and making India win is much more important than these 300's and 17,000's.

Let tendulkar win matches for India consistently at least from now.

One Mutthah muralitharan for a tiny country called Sri Lanka, has won many matches single handedly with his own contribution,Inspite of cricket being called a team game, by Sachu's fans, since almost Sachuu falls in the failed category.

The only problem was, that he is not from our INDIA.....

there are no such facts that suggest that Sachin is the best in the world. Make Ponting, Kallis, Hussey, Dravid, G Smith, etc. play very bad so you can claim Sachin is the best in world.

ponting plays with clarke, hussey and good bowling attack, same applies to kallis. But just think of Tendulkar, he is got inconsistent performers in his side. With this pls do not expect him to be a match winner. He can contribute and take you close for a win or can win some matches not all.

I see lot of people asking for Sachin performace and winning rate. Pls try to find out India's winning rate and performance without his contribution, i can tell you its very pathetic(Except the T20 world cup we won).

Sir Don Bradman the best greatest ever
by Rahul Ponting on Nov 14, 2009 11:42 PM  | Hide replies

Others like Ponting, Lara, Dravid, Kallis, Sachin, Hussey, Pietersen, etc. don't even come close to the greatest ever.
Bradman played 52 tests and 80 Innings and scored 29 centuries including two triple hundreds and 9 double centuries.
It's ridiculous to even think that Sachin is the best ever. The guy is great for sure, but the greatest? Warne and Lara probably are the biggest names in most cricketing nations. They never need a country's massive population to praise them.

Shane Warne's nightmare of Sachin was about Sharjah time. Since then Sachin's become more or less Warney's bunny. go check the stats.
If Bradman was to play 104 test matches he'd have 48 centuries including 4 triple centuries, 18 double centuries and his average would be 99.94

Sir Don Bradman is the greatest ever
by Rahul Ponting on Nov 14, 2009 11:27 PM  | Hide replies

That's what the record book of cricket suggest.
Sachin? the man with the highest no. of centuries even though he never got close to scoring a triple century which Sehwag has done twice. Sachin also has lesser no. of double centuries than Dravid. His career average is lower than Ponting's. Lara is the only batsman in cricket's history to score a 400*. Now if Sachin was this great to score a 400, fans would start saying he is the biggest thing in the universe!

400 is impossible for the little player. He first need to score a 250 which he couldn't do in the last 20 years. Will he do it now? I'd rather bet on Dravid scoring a triple century than Sachin scoring a 250.

It is funy to see many posts in this column that Sachin Autographs, Walks well, sleeps well,IS VERY DECENT, TRULY Indian etc......
It dosent matter whether sachin signs autographs or plays with children. Also nobiody complained that he is not Decent nor Indian.
The important thing is that, he is not winning matches for India which is most important and takes his place for granted.(Scores once in 10 matches and fails in the others)

Meanwhile Yuvi scored 6 sixes in a match, Kumble scored a hundred in England, so did Irfan Pathan against Pakistan, Sehwag scored 2 triple centuries, Dravid won us a series in the West Indies. But Sachin is better simply because he is god, no? some cricketers like Ponting, Pietersen, Hussey play more consistently and score more runs than your little god.
