Blame the team , not the individual - its not chess - its cricket. no player in world can win match alone . look at lara , he is equal class of 10dulkar , but did he ever won a final for his team - NO . reason his team is such poor in all depts. and even Lara cannt do anything alone.
if ponting and gibbs 100 helping their team to win match , thats also mainly bcz of the support performance from other batters and bowlers . so blame team not player
India is a land of making of legend that often comes from virtue of a tag instead of value.
Mohinder Amarnath continued after 6 ducks in a row. Srikanth averaged around 15-25. Ravi Shastri, first Indian who hit 6 sixers in an over, became the slowest player & forced defeats on Indian team. Azhar chose his last resort as MP in UP & so much for our democratic choice of a role model.
Sachin, on the contrary remained a class player undoubtedly. Sachin remains best of all times. He probably needed a matching skilled partner in the team as Kapil needed one.
Two issues though.
1) Sachin denied to CBI matches were fixed & expressed wonder if matches could be fixed.
2) Is Sachin a match winner? It is debatable if Sachin's success & India's victory are different issues. Sachin did throw his wicket before India's victory mark.
Be it politics, movies OR cricket, we create permanant tags for celebs thats good for life. We beleive Nehru's genes are meant for post of PM. If Anu kapoor was son of Amitabh, he probably would have had Abhisek's career & Aish as wife.
I hope Sachin realises when to call it quits respectfully.

AP: Azhar did the match fixing & denied until proven. Once proven, he said he was targeted because he belonged to minority. After he was thrown out, he managed to contest in muslim majority UP & got elected as MP. It is strange that a tainted hyderabadi cricketer had to go to UP to become an MP. Are we so crazy to elect Azhar as our role model leader?
Fans of O.J Simpson pronounced him not guilty on his crimes. Are we any better with 90,000 crore in betting industry, match fixing, Azhar as MP & all other cricket related scams around?
It seems we are heading to sacrifice democracy of India for masterful performances.

Here is an idea to maintain Sachin in the Team a little more and at the same time win more tournaments. Do not play him in the finals, and Sachin has all the opporunity to win more man of the match awards and India gets more title!!. He always disappointments in the finals, after making me excited in the semi-finals.
