Sachin & Records
by LG on Nov 13, 2009 02:56 PM  | Hide replies

Do some people have any idea who can make records? These insensible people think making records easy. One can make it the moment one decides to make one or by being obsessed with it.

Sadly, These people do not know or don't want to accept it that records get created not made intentionally.

How records are created?
One has to be the best consistently in what he does over a long period of time on all kind of pitches and against all kind of bowlers/batsmen. Since Sachin is and has been the best batsman for 20 years, naturally he has most of the records.

This highly talented player is record obsessed. He could not hide his obsession by complaining to the media that he was disappointed that he was not allowed to complete his double century. It seems his attitude is still that of a 10 year old kid.

You must yourself in Dravid's place and see. Though not as talented as Sourav & Sachin, he played selflessly. He never cared for his own records and always put team's intrest above.

If you really believe that for 6 runs he would have take very long then I really pity u as a cricket lover.
If anybody could have told him that we are thinking of declaring. Just finish your double hundred and we'll declare. Wouldn't he have scored 6 runs quickly on that placid track? Even laxman said he was surprised at the declaration.
Boss if you are playing and enjoying then scoring a double hundred gives immense pleasure. that's why he was dissapointed

So would any other player. For all your rationalism, put yourself in his position. Anyway, Tendulkar has moved on and so have everybody else, including Dravid. It is time for us to move on.

That day he was slow and giving maiden after maiden. It is a fact that whenever he is near century his scoring rate slows down. BTW, any great player should not give so much importance to records.

Sachin Tendulkar
by LG on Nov 13, 2009 02:52 PM

Words are not enough to describe him. Some say he is the GOD of cricket, other say he is the best batsman ever played cricket.

Because he is like Arjun of Mahabharat-best in his profession and perfect human being. Bhavan Krshan said in Bhagvad Geeta, in Pandavas, I am Arjun; so I can understand why Sachin is perceived as the GOD of cricket.

freinds

Lets clear 1 point here
when talking about top batters , dont link with their teams winnng average ,
if sachin scored 175 from 140 balls while chasing , thats simply bcz of he is a legend. and if his team still lost that match its bcz the team is not good.
how many players scored 150 while chasing in crikcet history . i remember only 2 , sachin and gibbs.
if gibbs 178 won the match its bcz his team supported him , if sachins 175 was not enough to win , its bcz his team is too bad

Again the same story. Through one innings he made may more personal records but did nothing for the team. Did his runs help winning any of the matches played? And all the cricket pundits are once again started glorifying him. I emphatically say the more he plays for India, the more failure for Team India. He must retire and must give chance to young players like Uthappa, Venugopal, Rohit Sharma, Kohli etc.

When young players like Utthappa, Venugopal, Rohit Sharma, Kohli etc. start scoring runs (which incidentally help India to win contrary to your skewed beliefs) then they will come into the team.
Like Sachin did. :)

Venugopal Rao did not get a decent chance, but that was not because of Tendulkar. The other guys got a chance but haven't proved themselves yet.
Just one other thing. The fact that this guy is being discussed so much shows he is special. The fact people are trying to lessen his achievements in itself is a back handed compliment.
It took a lot of hard work to become what he has. Let the others match his hard work, and then they can talk.

SACHIN THE GREAT
by mahesh mahesh on Nov 13, 2009 02:02 PM  | Hide replies

Without any doubt Sachin is one of the best batsman the world has ever produced.

Impartially and dispassionately analysing,is it not a fact that even in his lean trots he was not dropped attributing poor performance lke the other batsmen??? If similar chances were to be given to others, would they have not socred??Similar benefit was given to Gavaskar and not to Viswanath. One lean season, they are out of the team.
Look at Dravid, though he is performing in all form of games, he is thrown out!!do not jeer at this comment.Today it is Dravid tomorrow it is your dear ones who will not get a chance to prove their worth.

If one is not dropped, then playing for years after years is cool!!!!

Mahesh, but note well that in the last 15 years, Sachin did not go through a phase wherin he absolutely failed to coontribute for a long period. Don't compare others with Sachin. Players if they establish themselves over the years and their utility to team does not limit only to their batting or bowling and transpires even off the field, such players need a look in for long time. Sachin has been that. He might have been favoured at times, but all the times he has proved himself to wearing Indian cap and I don't think that he has been a liability to Indian team at any point of time. I share your view with regards to Dravid. But it has more to do with reigning captain Dhoni than selectors. Let us not forget at this time, Amol Muzumdar, one player who deserved to play for India but never got even a single opportunity despite scoring heavily on domestic circles. Whom to blame? Throughout his carrier, Indian team boasted of seemingly best middle-order and there was hardly a place for him. While I feel it was sheer injustice to his talent, I don't know, if he was selected where was he to play for India. The only glitch in Test ws the openers's slot and Amol was not an opener. But after the openers there were stalwarts such as Dravid, Sachin, Ganguly and Laxman, who for years hardly gave any chance to complain with their solidity. These kind of things do occur. But Sachin has never disappointed the cricket fans or the selectors who selected him.

One of the reasons behind this is, Sachin has never confronted with any one from selection committee or Board, nor even media. Performance is not the only criteria for his persistence, the board and the selectors have always shown his example to others on how to behave professionally on and off field. The board needs some one like him in the middle always to set standards and be a role model. Whatever may the ups and down in his career in the last decade, he has reached a level of maturity that is beyond any performance standards.
