you all are right because sachin is selfish. Most of the big series wins recently have been without sachin like Sun is made of ice, water is always hot in ocean, we are living on moon, you are playing in indian team etc etc etc.. yes true but you already know English so could you please check stats for last two years. please please please yaar itni meharbani kar do. please also check videos on internet how he played before terming him selfish. 175 of 141 balls too selfish he should have just stood there and india could have scored those runs from no balls because Aus had come to lay eggs not to play

FACTS ABOUT SACHIN:
by rahul bajaaj on Nov 13, 2009 11:51 PM  | Hide replies

Tendulkar had always failed at crucial times (Except Sharjah-1998, Tri bank Series-2008 & in the highest run chase in combination with Yuvraj Singh)considering his vast experience Number of matches played (450 ODI 140 odd Tests).
He has failed in crucial junctures. But, the most important thing is that he has taken his place for granted since 2000 (Except for 2003 WC).
In the current series also, he was not involved in any of the Indian wins. Except for his 175, his other 5 innings fetched only a meagre 100 runs at an average of 20. So, Tendulkar is not a reliable player during crunch situations and he is not a finisher which he has proved many an occasion.

Your data is not quite right. So, your thesis is wrong. If you look at the man's recent record, it is exemplary.

Tendulkar won the two finals for India against Australia in Austrlia - that you point out, the TriBank. Now is there a reason we should not see this as a good achievement in reason times?

Then followed up with the Srilanka Finals, where he won the match for india.

It is not Tendulkar that failed. It is the BCCI and the 10 remaining players that lay eggs and cant even hold up the other end that failed India, time and time again.

If you look at the stats when he won the matches for india, he had to raise his game average from 50% to 83% to win matches for india. That should tell you something about the remaining 10 players that BCCI surrounds him with.

As long as Dhoni and Yuvaraj are more happy to play IPL and is attending parties after india lost a heart breaking match, we will find it tough to win anything.

Your thesis cannot be correct 'cause, it appears you except everything he does good and continue with your thesis with NO data to back it up!

By that logic Dhoni is not a reliable player. Yuvraj is not a reliable player. Harbhajan is not a reliable player. Raina is not a reliable player. Jadeja is not a reliable player. Nehra is not a reliable player. Sehwag is not a reliable player.
WHO is a reliable player? :)

Only a cynical critique can question Sachin's capability. I think people remember of Sharjah because it was not just great but brutal. It was among the best innings ever played by anyone. IWhat people forget is that in the entire 90's when Sachin use to get out, half the TV sets in INDIA used to be shut down. He was a one man army..no one could match him at that time in the Indian team. If anyone says that Sachin has not won matches for India, then I ask name anyone else who has even half of what he has done as a contribution to India's victory in ODIs. Is anyone referring to Dada, or test player converted to ODI player Mr. dravid or are we talking about Gavaskar, kapil , yuvraj and Dhoni.

Sachin has won atleast 54 matches for india !
by sunil kumar on Nov 13, 2009 11:41 PM  | Hide replies

question 1 )Critics ask:
When ever selfish tendulkar scores a ton india losses ?
FACT:india has won 32 matches out of 45 when tendulkar has scored a ton which is a whopping 71%

Q 2)oh is it ? but this useless player should have scored all his 32 match winning centuries against weaker teams like bangla/kenya/zim?
FACT: His tons have helped india win 9 times against australia.list is as follows -
australia--9, new zealand --5, srilanks -5, kenya -4, zimbabwe-4, west indies-3, south africa-2, pakistan-1 & namibia -1

Q 3) : All most all of his match winning centuries were scored batting first this choker cant score a run while chasing under pressure ?

Fact: Tendulkar has scored 17 tons while chasing a huge score & india has won 15 times ( unbelievable 88 %).some of his most popular innings while chasing , the one against aus in WB series downunder & the one in sharjah , the innings against pakistan in wc,

Q 4)May be this was long time back ,BUt in recent times whenever he has scored a ton we have lost ?
FACT:India has won last 4 matches out of 5 when he has scored a century ( 80%)

5 ) UNFAIR CRITICISM:
All his Man of the match awards are useless , we end up losing like we did against aus recently ?

FACT: Tendulkar has won 60 MOM's out of which in india has won 54 times (90%), & 8 times he got MOM award in the finals ( Hold ur breath 100 % success rate , all were won ) . APart from this he has be named man of the series 16 times

Mr.Amit Srivastav,
According to ur statement, people used to switch off their TV in the 90's (Not Now) when tendulkar got out. The same was with Krish Srikanth & Kapil dev (during the 80's) because of their dashing playing and great entertainers. Now, only people like u miss tendulkar. Infact, most of Indian victories in the past 4 years has been in the absence/without contribution of Tendulkar.

But where does the question of "not missing" Tendulkar arise? :)

Rahul,
Where did you get the information?
'Infact, most of Indian victories in the past 4 years has been in the absence/without contribution of Tendulkar'
You need to check the data again. Sachin had a lean patch during 2005-2006 (not sure of the years), but has been contributing again to several victories in the last 3 years.

Nice data. There are many reasons Sachin has so many critics. The reason that there are so many Sachin haters are because People make judgments by heart. They hate the player when the team loses and do not care but are happy when the team wins. Sachin being termed as greatest batsman/player easily made the guinea pig when India loses whether he scores or not. Some of the Sachin haters are also jealous that he gets a lot of limelight and lot of endorsements and expectation is that he hits a century in every match he plays and wins every match.

Young Sachuu angered by the remarks against his batting/captaincy/managerial skills has decided in consultation with Sunny the Great, Robi Shastree etc..that hereafter he will open in the TESTS to prove his great technical skills and will come down at No-5 in ODI to finish the game for India unlike he has done for the past 20 years. Sachin fans…. Cheer up………Come on India………Jaaaaaaaaaaai HOooooooooooooooooo.

Only two innings from ODIs- 143 against Australia in Sharja and 175 against Australia in Hyderabad...magic beyond words. Moin Khan clean bowled on a Sachin googly on the last ball of the day that turned the match. Catch in the deep that almost broke his neck. Enough for me.

Blame the team , not the individual - its not chess - its cricket.
no player in world can win match alone .
look at lara , he is equal class of 10dulkar , but did he ever won a final for his team - NO . reason his team is such poor in all depts. and even Lara cannt do anything alone.

if ponting and gibbs 100 helping their team to win match , thats also mainly bcz of the support performance from other batters and bowlers . so blame team not player

you take retirement whenever u want but remember one thing which your idol "Sunny Gavaskar" says and which is been told to him by his idol "Ajit Wadekar"and that is you have to take retirement when you are at top and people ask "Y" and not when people started saying "Y NOT".

Thats what Sunil Gavaskar and Ait Wadekar said. It is not applicable to Sachin who can hit a 175 in ODI even at an age of 37. no body can doubt that he is still one player in the world who can score 200 in ODI. He is not like Gavaskar and Kapil who were like crawling on the pitches 2 years before they retired. Sachin is from MARS..people need to accept that.

Gavaskar hit his 1st ODI century in his 38th year. He was quite fit. It was Kapil, who struggled between wicket no. 401 and 434.
