After a tough day's work, you are feeling tired and drained. Instead of renting the latest Hollywood flick from the local DVD store, get, if you can, a video featuring highlights of Sachin's best knocks, and watch it.
I can assure you it will be the best stress reliever and energizer than any action movie or Hindi musical.
Wow; those on-drives that go BANG past stunned bowlers like bloody tomahauks - they are so yummy!!! Only Sachin can do it.
the comment column is full with sachin bartering. he should retire, he plays for himself and records, he does not win matches for team, he is money greedy, he is injured, he should vacate place for youngsters etc. it hurts very much when knowledgible cricket lovers write such comments about a great player. people do not know what to think about such comments as it is not clear what is the problem with writers. is it his playing, his records, his earnings or just a habit of pulling legs. it will be very good if statistics are seen before such comments. these comments are read everywhere in world and people must be amused to find out how low we feel about our national icon. i hope i have driven my point home.at least we should respect sachin's good manner and behaviour.

That's also because India plays so few Tests, so he does not have much chance to extend his record.
Indian media like our people is obsessed with heoros. They create heoros and use them for milking money by writing about their greatnesses hyped and magnified and also by critisizing them.Indians are too emotional and get carried away with their emotions comparing these media heroes to God. Its high time that sense prevails and abstain from hero worship. Cricket is a team game. And only when everyone contributes, our team, our country can reach great heights. Other wise, we end up looser who are only good for hero worship.

Thanks for your appreciation. As a rationalist I believe that we should start thinking with minds than hearts and shed our prejudices.
We have to get the facts correct. Haow many openers in ODI chase till the end. Every position has a task and Sachin has done his task like no one has every achieved.

iam talking about current players only old players and old crikcet were differnt
its not time to retire for sachin , offcourse he shud cut down matches , to prlong his career all batting greats player till 37 or 38 ( lara , inzy , azhar, Jaysurya , steve waugh), sachin is only 36 and atleast till 2011 WC he shud play.
Of course he can get most of the records under his name but he would be short of achieving the match winner tag. The records wont help in India becoming No.1 team in the world. Sachin will be known as one of the greatest cricketer but not as a match winner.

You are right cricket is a team game and its not enlightning anybody here the match can be won by a single player, but please check the records of yuvraj singh, Ricky ponting , Muralitharan, Jayasuriya, McGrath when they have won the matches single handedly for their team.

did you forget Rickey pontings knock in the 2003 wc final against India boss?

Look none of these could have done it without the support of the other batsmen, the fielders and the bowlers.
Sachin ramesh has to retire... else india cant win the 2011 WC also... because of him india won the t20 wc. also the more runs he scores the team will only lose.. it has been wintnessed many times. it is mainly due to his selfish nature and attitude on the pitch, which ensures others get out..
Sachin is not a match winner! Oh really? 32 of his 100's have come when india have won in odi. Sachin fails under pressure He was the highest run getter in two WC's (Can't think of a bigger stage than WC), In india vs australia test series, apart from the 2001 and 2003 test series he has been the highest scorer in 92,98,99,2007-08 and 3 of those series were in australia. We all know how tough it is playing against aus in aus, that is the toughest challenge for any cricketer. The only blemish in sachin's career was his failure in the 2007 WC, but he is human and is bound to fail, i'am sure if he is in similar form he can give his dream of winning a WC one last chance. God bless u sachin, and carry on the good work.

In year 2001 and 2003 (Sachin was at his peak) Sachin was just 27 or 28 years old. Now he is 36. He has played for 20 years and has contributed a lot to Indian cricket. Amazing cricketer, King of Indian cricket. Beyond doubt. I salute Sachin. I have so many posters of the great man in my house also. I really do. Even carry Sachin's photo in my wallet. He is my favorite player too. Fine.
But we need to look at present form of any player right ?
Scoring 175 on a BATSMAN's paradise in Hyderabad (small ground where anyone can easily hit sixers... in that 5th ODI in Hyderabad 55 fours and 22 sixers were hit and 697 runs totally scored by both teams. MARSH - 112, WATSON - 93, WHITE - 57 , RAINA 59, PONTING - 45, SACHIN - 175.
Its pretty clear that almost all players scored heavily on that day in Hyderabad (I have been to that ground so many times and I know its a small ground too mostly for T20 matches... Thats why its not chosen as World Cup 2011 venue also). Also Sachin's highest of 186 in a ODI is in Hyderabad (another small stadium/ground) against NZL way back. I saw that great innings too. Sachin scoring on a nice , easy batting pitch .. well what can one say. What happened to Sachin in next ODI in Guwahati (hard to bat bowling friendly pitch) - He gets just 10 runs, while our bowler Praveen Kumar battles hard and shows all our great indian batsman how to bat on that pitch scoring 57 runs in India's 170 total. Sachin hit 10 runs and went back. India lost.

Yaar...what rumour ... I am just saying its small ground and all players scored. Its a beautiful pitch for batting yaar....697 runs by both teams...cant you see that is a fact. Its a fantastic wicket to bat. Outfield is also fast. ball races to boundary.
In CLT20 also, Trinidad Tobago and many teams hit so many sixers and fours in this ground yaar. Its a nightmare for bowlers. Its a paradise for batsman this ground.

Look the length of the boundary is standardised. If it comes to it only the Aussie grounds are huge. Sure he got out early in Guwahati, but that does'nt mean he does'nt have the technique. It happens to every batsman. Don't try to put the guy down for that one match.
