World Cup will make him a hero

Only achievements tell how big a legend you are....Pointing, if could have played for 20 yrs must have raped all records.....Sachin only justifies Quantity, Quality is never seen. What would have been his best Innings turned out to be his nightmare.....Plz retire and pave way for Rohit Sharma, Yusuf and others who brought the WC20-20 without you

First of all, I feel the Indian Education system is flawed. We give importance to a person's ability to count and calculate numbers than to other important qualities that makes a good business graduate... damn...

Rohit sharma and Yusuf was already given enough chances. After 41 matches still his average is 24 and wickets 2 for Yusuf after playing 30 matches avrage 20 and wickets 17..So not suitable for Indian team our old talent perform batter than this so why to change..

well said and more over Pointing is also not comforable with quality spin never compare wonder how Amrit got into B school.A person who scores 175 has to be ousted then wat abt Yuvi who plays once in a while and wat abt Suresh Raina how many matches hav we won from Rainas bat can u explain Amrit? and dont tell me they havent played enough...In those same number of matches Sachin was a match winner against the best of attacks....

Rohit Sharma and Yusuf Pathan have to prove themselves. You have to get in by performance, not wait for someone to make way. By the way, Rohit Sharma's attitude was criticized last season by the Mumbai coach. Recently he threw a few tantrums on the domestic scene. You have never had anyone criticize Tendulkar's attitude. By the way if you look at the overseas win statistic, India has won the most overseas matches in this decade, than anytime in its Cricket history. And it is second on the overseas win list after Australia since 2000. Tendulkar was one of the major contributors to this statistic. Sure he has'nt won everything. But that is life. You can't win it all.

sa chin
by Himan on Nov 13, 2009 04:48 PM  | Hide replies

not matter what others say. its hard to accept sachin as greatest player. true that he has played some good cricket but that is what expected from each and evry player. Excel in what you do. Why sachin was so famous. Its because no other indian bastman was that good. Or those who were good, got involved in match fixing.

sachin always had the privilege to skip the matches which he did not want to play and selectors agreed with him. if he was a great player he should have represented team in every match when he was fit. but he skipped some.

he wanted amol muzumdar in team instead of dravid. he did some things against rahul dravid in dravids initial period of cricket.

he was disappointed when he was asked to bat at 4 for team's benefit. He finally got openers slot.

after scoring 90 runs in each and evry innings he wasted many balls to get to his hundreds. no other cricker was passionate like him to score centuries. was he thinking from team's perspective?

many to pen down..

does he really deserve the appreciation in this manner?

Hey idiot, All those things about Sachin-Dravid, did you make them up? Sachin has been a big fan of Dravid and his game. Dravid deprived Sachin of the 200 in Multan, but Sachin forgot it and moved on. Sachin has been best as opener and he rightly said it to the team that he can serve best as opener. When Sachin is about to get a hundred, imagine the roar in the crowd (any country). Inspite of all that, he has scored so many hundreds.

HE IS INDIA's GREATEST PLAYER!

LEO. y r u showing ur ignorance.
Ponting was part of the old winning team and is now captain of the new team.
Since u r into records & everything. Can u explain y the Aussie team is ranked no 4 in test cricket. Y arent they winning much now.
yes, they won the ODI series with India and they deserved it but what about their bad show in tests. If he is as good as u say , then they should have still been no 1.
The fact is that cricket is a team sport and for all of ponting's good records he was supported ably by others like Hayden , Gilchrist , Warne , McGrath etc... without them the same Ponting is showing bad results.
As for Tendulkar he never had the fortune of having the best opening pair and best bowling pair in the same team playing with him. Thats y his records have fewer wins.
That is why Richard Hadlee called him the best batsman the world has ever seen for all time. And between u and Sir Richard Hadlee, i will go with Hadlee as he has played and understood the game.
regards.

ICC World No.1 batsman is not a batsman. He is a Wicket Keeper called M.S.Dhoni from India

A man who has been chosen to keep wickets for India is WORLD NO.1 in ODI rankings. That too coming from a small town in India, not big capital city. That is what is called HARDWORK and ACHIEVEMENT.

How many Wicket keeper batsman in the world, who dont get full 50 overs to face also (except Adam Gilchrist who opened for Aussies) have reached World No.1 Rank as a BATSMAN (yes , as a batsman, not as wicket keeper I am asking ?)_

The reason for the losses when he performs is because somewhere the rest of the team did not play around him, whereas the Aussies do it when someone comes up with a standout performance. But, overall India is playing better nowadays. The win at Perth was a collective effort. India beat England in 2007 on the strength of a collective performance. But the finest instance of a collective batting performance to me was way back in 1986. The venue was I think Old Trafford. Vengsarkar got around 90, none of the other Indians crossed 50, and India got 390. That was to me the best instance of team effort.
