Gambhir stumping should have been reffered>>>>
by ANISH KV on Feb 25, 2008 01:00 PM  | Hide replies

I strongly believe that Ghambirs stumping if it had been reffered to third umpire the decision could have come in India's favour and we could have won the match wit Gambhir staying till the end.
Any Commemt???
anybody thinking the same ???

Indians fought well .......
by ANISH KV on Feb 25, 2008 12:35 PM  | Hide replies

I think the Gambir,Dhoni ,Uthappa played very well ,though Dhoni scored very slow it is undrstandable that he had to keep his wicket till the 35th over ,if Dhoni had played some risky shots and failed India would have bundled out for less than 150 runs.
only Dhoni -Gambhir partnership gave India any hope of winnining after losing 4 wickets for 50 odd runs.
I think Uthappa proved his worth by the way he belted Mr Lee out of the park ,Uthappa is a very good fielder and should be given few chances to open for India as he can demoralise even great bowlers by big hitting.

Hi Pradeep and Gautam:
:-)
Mates, learn to accept the umpires decisions..
Didn't your Aussie friends teach you even this much?.. :-)
What you are indulging in right now is termed as whinging and cry baby tactics .. :-)
Don't tell me that the Aussies are going to take their bats and balls and go home demanding the immediate banning of Uthappa, and refusing to play the finals till the decision on Uthappa is reversed.. :-)

uthappa proved his worth by giving money to umpire. he was plumb LBW initially itself but that was not give.
if this happened with aussie batsmen then all the poeple here would be calling aussie cheater and so on.

Drop this selfish player from the team and include some youngster in place of him. He has again proved that he is of no use when it comes winning crucial matches. He doesnt have a single century in Australia in his 18 years of career. Shame on Sachin!!!

I think u dont accept anything against sachin..you dont accept that sachin dont play in crucial matches, you dont accept that sachin is not a match winner...sachin is not successful against mcgrath, vaas, akram and now lee...dont go by centuries..how many of them won matches for india..but for ganguly, out of his 22 centuries, india won in 20 matches..cool..sachin may be a great batsman but not match winner like lara,inzy,ganguly...we have spoken more about this earlier...cool...

Sachin has scored most runs in Intl cricket and they were scored for India-His contribution is maximun-No matter whatever be the match result-He is the greatest ever Batsman(considering Bradman faced bowlers like you)-He has scored against all Bowlers and in All countries. The greatest Leg spinner in history has bad dreams about him-So are many fast bowlers who dont say it-Indian Cricket is blessed to have him-Batsmanship is synonim with Sachin.Noone can dare to drop him-They say "Dont drop Sachin, dont drop your pant".

I am not from mumbai-Sachin has won many matches for India, and if you look at past you will find he has fought single handedly when all batsmen failed-He batted like hero, maybe the match was lost.Remember cricket is a team game and the logic that Sachin never plays to win is useless.

I think this is one of the most useless discussions...stating Sachin is useless... These kind of discussions have been had from about 18 yrs everytime he does'nt strike in 8-10 matches...Once he starts getting big scores...again all of us start preaching his name....For heavens sake concentrate on some other players like Sreeshant etc for giving a bad start right from 1st over!

Talking rubbish abt Sachin is only timepass...as I am sure he would strike big next match against Lanka and in finals...Wait and watch!

Also remember....Dravid or Ganguly could be dropped from team not Sachin....
I wont be surprised Dhoni being dropped also!

Space...How many finals have we won so far ever since Sachin has come in to Cricket????

In those finals we have won...can u pls check how many runs Sachin Scored...and how many times he has failed to contribute...

If u really see the %age u cud find that India has lost most of the finals and in the finals we have won Sachin has scored moderately

Pls dont say that we lost all those finals because Sachin dint fire...just to remind u there are 10 more players apart from him...

We are discussing on a petty topic...as he is too big a player to be even discussed by top 10 players ever to play cricket

It is surprising that the performance of Lee was overlooked by the commentators, who were only talking about Gambir and Ponting's centuries. This again shows the bias for the batsmen.

Mr ananth all know that Lee is a good bowler but yesterdays 5 wickets which he got were not because of his great bowling,he got hammered by our batsmen in his first 8 overs ,luckily he had tailenders with 10 plus runs per over to chase which finally resulted in 5 wickets haul for him.

Dumb:
Don't tell me Lee got Tendulkar out 5 times?.. :-)
What Anish is referring to is the fact that Lee's five-for occurred FINALLY due to the tailenders.. till then he was being hammered all around the park..
In fact Uthappa swatted a free hit right over the bowler into the stands.. don't forget that.
In fact it's you who needs to study cricketing skills a bit more..:-)

I believe Lee was the difference between India and Australia. He gave important breakthroughs whenever his team needed it.No other fast bowler from either side didn't give any impression. And one more thing there is no comparison between the 2 centuries.Ponting was in no pressure as Aussies already reached final. He got company with experienced partners. And Aussies never faced any crisis in the match except the early departure of Gilly. While Gambhir had to chase a huge total, with only 2 specialised batsmen remaining and it was a crucial match for the team too.In every aspect Gambhir's knock was better than Ponting. And also Ponting was never considered as a good chaser.

while chasing big totals, wickets will fall regularly irrespective of bowlers and yesterday it happened to be Lee who got 5 wickets..there is no wonder in that..if it not lee,it would have been some other..gambhir's innings is great than Lee and ponting..

Ponting's innings was fabulous. Lee's bowling was extraordinary. Gambir's innings was very ordinary as his focus was to get a century for himself and not saving India. By all means Ponting was not tired even after scoring 124, but a pity Gambhir' was crowned by the commentators that he was TIRED (???). did he bowl his 10 over spelll by any way?

SACHIN SEHWAG
by damodaran mohan on Feb 25, 2008 11:16 AM

India lost but went down fighting. It is a very creditable performance in spite of the TOP order failing yet again. Sehwag appears vulnerable to slower bowlers. But biggest problem seems to be he is not analyzing his strengths/weakness properly and looks FOOLISH given his potential and calibre . Regarding Sachin, I am afraid worse is still to follow in the IPL T20 matches when he will play in Mumbai in front of his home crowd. In this series either he should take a break or it will be better for Sachin to come down because this great batsmen getting out at the top is having demoralizing effect on the team. The think tank has to urgently strategise properly for these two openers. Shreesanth on the other hand should not try too many things and Dhoni should give protection on the LEG side when Shreesanth is bowling so that he bowls freely, wicket to wicket.
