Sachin is the best!
by Libran on Feb 25, 2008 02:52 AM  | Hide replies

Just a couple of low scores will not and cannot show that Sachin has lost form. He is the best in India, best in the world at the moment!!
Being too reactive is not good. In that case, we will have to have new playing 11 for every match. Going by your logic, Dhoni and Yuvraj had to be relegated to nothingness far long back!! Ghambir had a few bad matches - Today he is playing well. Dravid gave so many chances to Virendra Sehwag and Irfan Pathan before they were dropped for a few matches - That is the correct way. There are 11 players in the game for a reason. If the openers never get out, what are others for?

What did the youth power Yuv did in this match?
What did Dhoni do-get 36 in 66 balls? How many dot balls - could we have won if he had been able to convert at least a few of them. It would have been better if he got 36 in 36 ball and got out. It was very likely that Uthappa would have scored those runs - without coming in to so much pressure.
When Dhoni knows Sachin bowls so well why did he not use him? why did he have to use the fast bowlers again so quickly knowing well that spin is working better in terms of run-control?

Sachin had a couple of low scores - so sachin has to retire, uh? then, Dhoni has lost a cuple od matches. So should not he resign as captain?

Sachin bashers, you do not know Sachin's worth - you should be lucky to be living in the same time as Sachin (if you are a cricket fan) just like Sir Bradman's compatriots would have thought of them

'on'made an interesting comment about sachin's stance... well it seems to me that ( only an opinion) he is forced to abandon the formula becos of his back.. the bad back robbed him of his reach and tennis elbow claimed his fearsome pulls..old age had claimed his reflexes and noe we have a whimper instead of a roar!! temperament was never there to begin with...

Based on one of the response which talks about his stance, I saw tendulkar video before 2000 and after. And the guy who observed and mentioned here in the discussion board is absolutely correct. Looks like Sachin changed his stance since 2001 and as a result unable to be the Sachin we know, playing and attackingly well against best bowlers and team around the workd. I think that is the reason for the mystery that everybody is pondering on his non-consistent and non-attacking Sachin Tendya since 2001.

Fans, Friends,I strongly belive we should and forward this information to Sachin Tendulkar some how, which is asking him to revert his stance to outside legstump or ask him to watch all his videos before 2000 and stick to that successful stance again so that i tear apart bowlers like Lee, Staurt Clark, Malinga, Muralithara, south african bowlwers etc. Otherwise, Sachin would frequently get bowled, lbws, cannot play offside strongly etc, would end up having lesser batting average after he retires, and he wont be regarded as best batsman. Guys, in the interest of national pride and team india, we should strongly advise Sachin to revert to his successful stance and play well consitently and attackigly.

Sachin has gotton all his runs, centuries, money and fame. The one thing he lacked in his entire career is Temperament to stay out their and fight it out. His performance under cruch of 2nd inning proves that fact. I am sure he wishes he had that as well..

I thought he has been playing across the line too often, trying to flick an offside ball to the mid on area, too often, so he is vulnerable to any ball that is pitched off and middle and a short of length ball,

I am a big fan of sachin, I think he should take a break and play domestic matches to regain his form back.

If Sachin fails consecutively for 3 matches, selectors should drop him, I am hopeful that sachin will bounce back. This is what is good for Team India.

Dhoni's captaincy sucks big time.

Selfish Dhoni

Captainship is playing big on Dhoni's mind. This bastard just wants to keep his place secured in the team. If not for his 36 off 66 ball (a massive 5 overs eatup) India would surely have won this match. And our so brilliant top order Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvi all bit the dust again. They are getting consistent in failing.
Kudos to Gautam, Robin & Bhajji who put up a brave face despite all this. but thanks to their other fellow "TOP" batsmen that it all went in vain.

Let us not think about how the umpire was, whether blind or not, We have lost the match and are not going to win. Our selectors are also blind, to keep selecting Sachin even though he is a sheer waste,

match is lost when aus made 300? are u crazy? we made 299 in reply even after losing tendlya for 2. a little steady batting in the tail end and we couldve even WON the match. but no, let us forget the match and concentrate on what divides us all.

I agree with you.
I think Symonds is a very good ODI batsman and a fielder but his attitude is one of the worst I've seen not only among sportsmen but among human beings.
He is truly a disgusting monkey, due to his behavior and mindset.
I'm from Hyderabad and I'm not going to cheer for this unsportive scoundrel when he plays in the IPL.
All of my friends dislike this guy equally.
Shame on GVK for signing him and that too for 1.35 million dollars.
If Indians had any self respect,we wouldnt even allow this stinking anti Indian racist SOB into the country.
Why do we allow ourselves to be degraded and be treated like shit by foreigners ?
Is this in our mindset ? Truly disgraceful.

Because even animals have more respect and integrity than this guy.
What's up with Jeff Crowe guy ? He fined Rohit Sharma for staying at the crease for a few seconds and now this.
India should stop playing in Australia altogether.

Cunning Dhoni and unlucky Tendu............
by Ramesh Singh on Feb 25, 2008 01:06 AM  | Hide replies

So far only few have noticed cunningness of Dhoni, he wants to keep his position secure in team so playing tactics properly. I am emphasizing few here to support my claim.
1. Against SL why he could get any boundary, since India won the match no one has asked but if India had lost it by 4 or 5 runs, he would be responsible for that not having any good technique. (for his technique)
2. Why he is keeping Suresh Rania away from final 11, he has already batted in lower middle order and have good techniques in terms of batting. (Raina will be future considered for future captain, he is afraid of this)
3. He knows Yuvi and Viru do not play consistently, so not touching them (won't be captain choice any time).
4. No doubts Ganguly and Dravid are as best as they used to but rotating player he can provide younger player good experience.
5. Since Tendu.. does not know how to comment or present thing properly, he is taking advantage of this and showing he is taking advantage of his experience.

Now come to our Tendu...

There is no doubt that Tendu never play when required and the same time it is very true when Tendu... play one do not know what is requirement. Of course he is not as good as used and it is better to retire for him but........but.. let him hang around for a couple of year so youngster can learn how to not fail in critical situation. Apart from this, he is unlucky in the sense he get bad decision in crucial matches.

Dhoni scored what 36 something in 66 balls while chasing 300 runs! Agreed, the wickets were down, but the wicket was very good and could have easily got few more runs, but yea, one thing is certain, dhone is no more a big hitter, ofcourse his technique was never a strenght, just it is evident now since he is playing extremely slow. Besides, he can be a good politician has he not be a cricket

Wait for some more days. You scum cheated all the way to win the Gavaskar-Border Trophy. But then you people lack decency, no wonder Botham used to say that he was playing in front of and against convicts when he played oz, in oz, with exception of Hussey, who appears to be a very balanced bloke and talented one as well and Adam Gilchrist, and Brett Lee, all the rest of your team needs to be taken through correctional school.

Sachin - READ THIS !!!
by Rock on Feb 25, 2008 12:45 AM  | Hide replies

This is a very hard one. Its clear that tendulkar is not the same batsman he once was - but that is only to be expected. His reflexes have slowed and he has lost that extra split-second that he used to enjoy. That makes him look more ordinary and vulnerable. But I still think he has a very compact technique. And given the lack of talent around, he can certainly hold a place in the Indian team for now. Would he make the Australian team right now - the answer is no. But there arent too many knocking on the doors of the Indian cricket team right now.

Guys,

Since 2001, we are not seeing the same consistent and attacking Sachin Tendulkar because of the following reasons.

1. He changed his stance to come close to leg stump. If you all see his innings before 2001, you will see him stand outside leg stump and a result he is able to play good length balls(5-7 meters from his batting crease) as well as balls of any length. If you look at his sharjah centuries, australia series from 1992-2000, the brilliant hundred in diana memorial match, you will be agreeing with me. With his stance outside leg stump, he is able to cut, pull, loft well any length(slow, fast paced) and where he wanted. Unless someone reminds and advises Sachin to watch his videos before 2000 year, I dont think we can see our old sachin again and we will end up seeing getting bowled, lbw etc and also end up not a great batsman.
2. He does not learn from mistakes by comparing his videos from year 2000-2008 against 1989-2000.

So, friends, if someone advise and forward this info to Sachin, it will help sachin and team india for coming 4 years

1. Natwest Finals 2002 against Englad.
2. World Cup 2007 against Srilanka.
3. World Cup 2007 against Bangladesh.
4. .............
5. .............

list goes on and on.....

I like Sachin Tendulkar for his talent, discipline and concentration. But I just can't afford to turn a blind eye to his lack of commitment when it comes to chasing down a target or performing on a big stage in crunch situations. But he was a different player during the earlier part of his career. Very sad to see him failing to contribute, for more than half a decade now, in some areas of ODI and Test Cricket, where the importance of contribution with the bat need not be over-emphasized.
