I think for'n coach is better. We definitely have better local people who can coach. 1. We tend to select former players as coaches, which is not correct most of the time ( for ex., can you think of Kapil being the coach ? ) 2. Even if we select a good one, considering the political aspects they have to deal with, they will make compromises. 3. There is a high possibility that for'n coaches do not come with preset opinions (like Sachin is God)
Anyway it looks like there are not many for'n takers for this job.

it seems we have lost our identity(an indian one). its really puzzles me y people r behind foreign coach.. when there is an able coach in Sandeep patil available in india itself.Madan Lal is another promising prospect. For a change we may try n hire a coach who has not played cricket but has sound knowledge of it like harsha bhogle. But wat cud we do its all up to the seven people to decide on it. May god bless INDIA!

I am sorry Anish. How can you name a commentator who does his job very well for a coach when he does his job well with statistics. It goes to tell how educated you are in the game of cricket and how you express your opinions proud. Harsha bhogle himself will laugh at you for this. Dont tell this once again.

I want to suggest that it is better if we just attack the opinion, it's pros and cons. I think we should desist from attacking the person himself. I think Anish has every right to hold his opinion and tell it how many ever times he wants, until his language is agreeable.

Well, If any indian former player wants to become a coach why he is not coaching State teams. When we are selecting players from State teams why not coaches??? These former players just want big jobs with out doing hard work. Crieteria for selecting a coach must be his experience in coaching for all contenders.
Lift the ban on Mohd Azheruddin and appoint him as a new coach of indian circket team because he is a very successfull captain and classic batsmen and excellent feilder of his era.

Hydrabad ones are fake and just behind dollara dollara ..People from hydrabad who are in IT and Cricket all are fakes ..80% are hydrabadis are fake ..people who are not even completed SSC or HSC are in USA and UK in 2000 boom ..how can we trust hydrabadis..
Gavaskar should not be removed from selection panel for cricket coach. Its known to everyone that he lobbying for his brother in law G R Vishwanath for this position and he did the same thing when he had influenced selectors to pick his below average cricketer son for one day side.
After Next World Cup .. Whatmore will be offered a TOP position in The australian Board. Now the aaustralian board will be surely contact him to destroy Indian cricket further like it was done by Greh Cheappel who was rewarded.
This shows we dont have confidence on ourselves and need to be driven by a foreigner only. Our mentality of slavery has not left us. Which Other great cricketing nation is hiring an Indian Coach?

Come on..Stop these spy stories..The Aussies are the best because they concentrate on the game and play it better than everybody else and not because they put moles everywhere in the cricket world. And for the record, I haven't come across any report yet that Chappell was offered a top position in Australia, considered? yes. Offered? No. Let me know if I missed something.
And abut the slave mentality, we can only say we don't have that mentality only when we can select the best coach irrespective of his nationality, not as long as that continues to be an issue in these discussions. A foreigner simply is not likely to have regional or any other kind of favoritism, that most of us have at some level (This in itself is a big plus)and I am sure most of us are fighting to remove from our systems.
