Why Indian cricketes need coach. They already trained and have enough experience of playing cricket. Tahts the reason they have been selected for Indian team. If they need coaching then its better to sack them and send non cricketers. Anyway they get coach and training.

Hi miss Rajni..this comment you made that the Indian Cricket team dont need a coach is completely baseless. Every team needs a coach because team does not contain only experienced player but it also consist of young players who needs a coach for improving their game in every match. Only good and experience coach can help them to improve their game. So its mandatory and nacessary that every team must need a coach.. I hope i justified my point to you.
Dear Rajani, I can understand your frustration. You right that we are playing the same game at same level whether the coach is there or not and whether he is Indian or Foreigner.
But it doesn't mean that we can not improve without a coach. Definitely we can improve into No. 1 position, if we have a good coach who can give guidence to the players, not make comflict between the players. Hope we will get one now.. and we can see our team wins.. Hope for the best.

Well guys, few more points in having a coach - It's not only the game, it's the responsibility of the coach to dig down to the mental status of each member and try to take them up to the level 1 position. I think India team needs a basket ball coach from US. we know we have good players, but non of the appointed coach are able to read our boys mind.

may be the guy who sucked her lips in the public - an example of dare devil... afraid of nothing...
It seems the senior players wants to dominate the new coach. They should whole heartedly say that they do not require coach becoz they have sufficient experience in this field. I think they want to make money from the new coach too.

Well said ramesh. Sachin statements that whenever new coach be appointed, take the advise from the sr. players. but why, this is not his job and business. He should concentrate only cricket, nothing else. Before this, nobody asked the players for appointment of new coach. I think sachin and dada should be resigned from the team or should be sacked forever from the Indian team.

It's just another way to do business. New coach... new enthusiasm... more intrest... more fans...more aids .... more money in BCCI accounts...
What is the necessary to recruit new coach instead of a Indian. Why BCCI want to hire such a foreign coach. I think Indian coach is far better than foreigner. This is an insult to indian senior cricketeer.

Even the senior players were tried Mr.pradeep.Kapil was a coach for India without any success, Gavaskar, shastri, srikanth ...are all busy with television commitments, Rest of Indian seniors..gaekwad, patil were all tested and have pathetic record as coaches.No wonder BCCI is lookin for a foreign coach

B'coz they know india's player nature and attitude very well. They can misbehave to Indian coach but not to a foreign coach. So indian cricketeers are not interested to take the responsible.
Why is the new coach necessarily to be a foreigner? Have we learnt nothing from the bitter experience with Greg Chappel? Anshuman Gaikwad, Mohinder Amarnath, Sandeep Patil, Kapil Dev, Chetan Chauhan - Any of these would be a better coach. The success rate of Indian coaches has been reported to be much better than foreign coaches.

y do u blame chappell for everything???he did a gud job only......the idiotic players didnot respect him.....dat doesn't mean 2 say dat foreign coaches r not gud......they hav more intelligence & capacity than the indian coaches....now it all depends on the players especially the seniors.......

ya i also agree..chappel did a very good job while coaching for indian cricket team. He made lot of good plans and it was upto players to execute their plans. but our players whether they ae seniors or younger one, all of them have failed to execute the plans and thats the reason why Indian team could not even manage to go to the super 8's of this world cup. I think Chappel should not be blamed for all this. I think we should give the players some time to rebuild and rethink about their strategies so that they can come with fresh minds and fresh legs.And i m sure that Indian team will definitely regain its respect in world cricket. Lets hope for the best and give all the best to Indian team.
Sourav Ganguly technically weak player, and poor fielder. But the things which makes him special is his courage and fighting spirit. and yes in his early part of cricket he got help from Jagmohan Dalmiya. But he tried best for his come back.

great point!! Lets first come to a level of understanding.....if John Buchanan decides to coach Holland or Bermuda or Canada or Hong Kong or UAE he will not make world champs out of them....
A cricket coach's role is to manage the boys and inculcate discipline, and if some ironing out is needed, then it is done. He cannot be the one to give basic coaching on how to hold the bat!! That has to be done by the player before coming to the national side....so John Buchanan is successful because he is a good 'arranger' and does not teach Ricky Ponting or Gilchrist how to bat!! His job is easier since the Aussie team is a bunch of professional, performers.....at an average, every one of them performs every two matches...!! Even I could become a star coach that way!
