Indian Cricket Team

Its not the Indian selectors but the Indian cricket team is a bunch of jokers. And so also the fan following it has.Otherwise how can an ardent fan of Rahul Dravid feel he is no good as captain and opts for Ganguly, the lame duck to be the captain.Ganguly cannot move in the field. His captaincy is just average. He lets the team go in its own course. His batting has shown marginal improvement but below expectaions still. He is good for 30-40 runs and expecting a recall and a contract on his lap.If he had been so heroic could he save India in the second or third test matches. A hero would have saved that situation. I think he is best suited for politics now.

ganguly is not a lame duck, infact he is fighter. you wont understand what it takes to get grit and determination that saurav has. You are also cold brain as your fav player --- Mr Rahul Dravid. Half the time he is clue less of things happening around. I dont think he has any intelligence and even if has he doesnt use it. Dont follow his footsteps, use brains to decide who is the best--- thats dada. got it.

guru greg
by Abhay A Rao on Jan 10, 2007 08:54 PM

John Wright and Ganguly combination brought team india from disrepute of Azharuddins black deeds to world no.2. Then walked guru greg and destroyed the captain and the ship is now sinking. Blame it on guru greg.

dismal performance of Indian Cricket team
by tarun basu on Jan 10, 2007 08:50 PM  | Hide replies

I think make all sort of noises sitting out of playing field is very easy. Ask the guy who is doing everything right in the middle. Ups and downs in one's career is a known fact but this does not mean that we should try to pin down greats like Sachin,Veru,Laxman etc. Pl for God sake have patience. Ask these people - how are they feeling? Leave things onto selectors particularly Dilip Vengsarker who himself has been a great fighter.

SACHIN
by Mohammed Nawaz on Jan 10, 2007 08:45 PM  | Hide replies

SACHIN IS NOW AN OLD DONKEY. HE SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE CRICKET IMMEDIATELY. THERE IS NO CONSISTENCY IN HIS PERFORMANCE.ALL CRICKTERS SHOULD BE BANNED TO DO ANY MODELLING.
WE INDIANS PLAY CRICKET FOR OUR OWN BENEFIT AND MONEY. AZHAR, SIDDU AND AS WELL AS FEW OTHER CRICKETERS ARE NO EXCEPTION. INDIAN CRICKETERS WIN MATCH AGAINST BANGLADESH AND NEPAL THATS SHOWS OUR CRICKETERS ARE IMPOTENT.
EVEN THE INDIAN JOURNALIST NOWADAYS HAS BECAME TOTALLY IMPOTENT.THERE IS NO SENSE IN THEIR THINKING AND WRITING. TRY TO BECAME A GOOD AND BOLD CRITIC JOURNALIST AND AUTHOR LIKE ME.

Yes u r absolutely right. He is an Jack Ass in the Team and a great endorser in the indian market. Its better he changes his career from cricket to Advts etc.... I feel in his entire career he was never a match winner, he played for his own records and as been a Indian brought name to Indian cricket.God saves people from extreme, acute dangerous situations, but Sachin does the opposite. Its better the God of indian cricket take rest .

Indian Cricket Team

Some of the messages have left a lot to be desired. There is no need to become emotional when it comes to be assessing the performance of the team. Talking about Tendulkar, he had 3 good first innings scores of 44,63, 64 in each of the test matches. He was batting fluently except for the last innings of the 3rd test. I am sure he will find his feet and timing. Allan Donald, Daryl Cullinan, Kepler Wessels and Barry Richards all felt that Tendulkar has lot of cricket left in him.

It would be good if fans do some soul searching analysis. The Indian Middle order comprising of Dravid, Sachin, Laxman and Ganguly is an aging batting line up. All the guys are on the wrong side of 30. I am sure there is going to be an exodus in 2008/09 when all these players would be gone along with Kumble. So we have to plan ahead for this eventuality. BCCI should set up the centers of excellence, the top players in domestic cricket should be put on a fast track mentoring /training program. BCCI should organize A tours to Australia and South Africa so that India A players get exposure at the international level. Players like Raina, Kaif, Venugopal Rao, Piyush Chawla should get lot of exposure at the A level.

What we need is long term planning, almost everybody starting with BCCI officials and some amateurish journalists and fans are obsessed with short term results. None of them understand the processes that are required to develop a world class team.

Regards,
Yogesh

Samir Nath from Vadodara:
I think in the batting arena one needs to develop a balance between aggresive batsmanship and rock solid batsmanship where one end is always blocked by the low profile but consistent performer. In the high profile West indies team of yester years, Larry Gomes was a steadying influence on the team in times of collapses. I feel once one end is blocked, we should choose the agrressors based on form and reflexes. Generally an aggrssive batsman will have a shorter shelf life if he does not develop a good technique to defend the good balls.

Thilakh Chacko
the reason for failure
by Thilakh Chacko on Jan 10, 2007 08:28 PM

if you watched the telecast during the match, they had told that tendulkar was having back pain. that is why he couldn't bat properly in the 2nd innings. At the moment, it is important to give rest and just enough practice for world cup. Please have faith in him. He will deliver in one day. remove him from tests only as he is not fit enough as he was nearly a decade ago.

Chappel cunning plots!
by vi y on Jan 10, 2007 08:17 PM

I doubt Mr.Chappel way of treating Indian team selection since last six months especially after successful pakistan trip. The point is he is an Australian and helping Australia win the World cup for the third time in a row, well sounds wierd! but to my knowledge it is not because Australia have had said many times before that we have to worry about Indians in the last two world cups and especially those worries are because of our good one day starting partners between sachin, shewag or ganguly but Mr.Chappel has made the ganguly out of question or sight but to his surprise he is back in the latest test series and hope to be followed till world cup in the one day internationals. It can be seen clearly in the decently finished ICC world cup where indian team did not performed well on indian soil, dont know what is the reason but it is not at all good. He started plots like young blood to the Indian team, well it is good but why should we think now when there is only 6 months for world cup to go. So on the whole i would like to conclude that Mr. Chappel is a big ......, must be replaced soon if not we would loose a chance to win the coming world cup.

by FISHAN REHMAN on Jan 10, 2007 08:12 PM

it is a well saying that class is permanent and form is temporary. so all the people which are commenting on sachin please beware to talk like that. if he is drop from team whatever run indian is making reduce 60 and the pressure which is due to him on the opposite team although he is not in good form.

sachin

A good cricketer of Newzealand McMillan who is
back in the team after a long time, went for a sales man job when he was not playing cricket
how many of our cricketers need a job. When players like sachin are earning crores of money its hard for him to quit cricket as he would lose his sponsors. There must be a rule where
a player cannot play for more than a year in the INdian team. This would give oportunity to the millions of young cricketers waiting in queue

Sorry to say ..Meaning less comment. Why compare with money? I don't understand why people talk about ads and money when the game is discussed . Cricket team is not a place where every one can go and make some money. Will the cricketers go and act in ads in between every over which will be shown live. I guess most of the folks are jealous about the money that cricketers make . Cannot blame the narrow thinking of people. Sadly that is what we made up of.
