Role models
by vinay kumar yadav on Mar 18, 2006 01:02 PM

Hi,
Yes they can definitely be a role models to those aspiring to make carrers in cricket.
They can also be a role models like Bhagat Singh & others........,as they also toil in every sense for the victory of the country.
If sacrificer's can only be role models, then why forget Raman Lamba. He gave lis life for the sport playing for the country.
Regards,
Vinay

Shut up Rajnath Singh! When would you & your party stop puking crap like that? Everything & anything can serve as a beacon, if looked at from the right perspective. When SA took guard they were determined to exhume all their inner ghosts & bury their past once & for all. They accepted the challenge head-on, didn't flinch, & showed the whole world what determination & a little faith can do. Who would say that there wasn't a message to be had? What about films like Rang De Basanti, Million Dollar Baby, Lagaan, Rocky, et al. that showcase the glory of the triumphant human spirit? Don't they have a message for us? It is common fact that old age brings senility & impaired vision. You are showing that you're both senile & blind! Take my advice; stop being so tunnel-visioned & self-important. Our nation deserves better politics than foolish McCarthyism.

Mr Rajnath
by Jayant Narang on Mar 18, 2006 10:14 AM

I totally disagree with Mr. Rajnath. How can you say that Country's Sportspersons are source of Entertainment. They are the one who represent the Courage,Strength and Power of the country. They are the one who are inspiring us to be active physically and mentally and thats how we can be a powerful nation. If all of us starts writing software code then there is no future of this place. Life will be Dull. I salute Dravid and Ganguly and are with them always.
May be people love Dravid and Ganguly are 99% and the rest may love the BJP president and thats why such frsutrating comment from him.

Criketers as role models
by P. Ganesh on Mar 18, 2006 10:08 AM

There is some truth in what Mr. Rajnath Singh says. Youngsters have to have selfless heroes as role models. Only then can the nation be expected to grow in the true sense. However, they can take the commitment shown by stars like Dravid as positive, desirable qualities when they accept a job.

Dravid and Saurav can be role models.

I fully agree with Mr.Rajnath Singh. They cannot be role models as far as their profession is concerned. However, they can be role models if you look at their attitude and devotion to work, ability and willingness to workhard are concerned. They teach us how to achieve our goals.

Can cricketers be role models?
by PC on Mar 18, 2006 09:22 AM

Answer is absolutely no.We are part of great hindu culture where big persons like Swami Vivekanda, gandhiji, Sardar patel are born. From ancient tradition this country is blessed with great Saints. Our models shall be them who can inspire to do great things in your personal life. We can learn good lessions from them. But our models shall be our great spirtual gurus.

India has a great history & such a great culture. You may visit Delhi Akshardham & will come know who shall be our model?

Best Regards

On Rajnath Singh's Comment
by subhayan on Mar 18, 2006 08:40 AM

I'm a 28 years old, citizen of india, preparing for the union civil service examination.

today in the morning, with the first glance in the newspaper I find Mr. Rajnath Singh's comment ecouraging enough for countrywide debate.

I'm a big fan of Indian Cricket & even bigger to sourav ganguly, not because he is of my state, but because his determination to overcome all the shortcomings, similarly to Rahul Dravid without having much talent for the game, he is the one hard working person of the century.

in spite of that i believe Mr. Singh' s comment is thought-provoking. We must respect our National Heroes & Freedom Fighters & their ideals, certainly which lacks in the mind of our youth, they mostly talk about film stars, cricket,cell-phone or love- affairs...

Mr. Singh's comments is good enough for us to think the way we are thinking & the way we should think. I personally congratulate him for such comment.
