Dear Author, You said every thing right from the point of view of all the friends of good cricket, since they are as angry as you are. But please don't justify that BCCI review committee has given green signal to Ganguly as Captain. Mr. Mahendra only said that Ganguly will remain captain so long Selection committee deam it fit. There is not breach of jurisdiction in this case. It may be the case if you start questioning the very jurisdiction of such review committee. Please don't create the hullabaloo now. Let Coach and Captain work out their relationship. Please don't go on putting needles in between. Everyone agrees that it is in the best interest of cricket. Let's give the working relationship another chance... Can not people and media give this space to them?

Gerg has not done any thing for Indian cricket except for breaking awell united team. He ruled out that Sachin can do good for Indian cricket, b4 that came said Sewag should be the captain, then this controversy over saurav. He just dismantaled a well united team. Gerg is a liar, he lied to the entire nation and said he respects Sourav and has faith in his ability. Yes Saurav is not in the best of forms,and may be its time to rethink abt captaincy, but the most most successfun Indian captain deserves little more respect and if need to leave it shld be with dignity and respect. I often see Arvind writing and getting published in Rediff. I thought he is staff reporter of rediff or what. He is biased. He always put forward one side of the story and rediff prints it. Can you plz explain few of these: - When coach goes to individual players and ask about Captain's injury, what value of the captain he puts in front of the team. One guy leading a nation and you cannot disrespect - why does Chappell sleep in the dressing room? - why is so concerned about team selection rather than strategy -
If it were not for the interference and self-serving patronizing of MiyaDalaal, Saurav would have been just a cricketer and Greg just a coach/ex-cricketer and situations like this will rarely precipitate to a media frenzy. Unless BCCI were run in a more transparent and democratic way keeping out MiyaDalaal(Dalmiya) situations like this are bound to repeat at a disturbing frequency which is debilitating for any sport. Let alone current crisis, cricket especially in sun-continent had been notorious poster-boy for monopoly, autocratic, favoritism, regionalism, castism, pampering, undemocratic, politicking, gambling and million other disgusting things. In any other country of this size there are at-least few other sports sharing the limelight. But for the manipulations of certain self-serving powerful beneficiaries other worthy sports will never see the light of the day in this unfortunate subcontinent. I have nothing against game of cricket, which I see as not only a sport but also an art. Nonetheless I sincerely wish the people controlling the sport, will eventually self-destroy giving way to more sharing with rest of the sports.
I think, and the rest of the country too, that it was Mr. Greg Chappel who was at fault. First, he made an honest suggestion, second he sent an honest mail and third he took the blame as a liar when it should have been the other way round. Any person who has an iota of self-respect should resign as coach. Because from now on, his own comments does not matter, his decisions does not matter, his discussions does not matter. Any player from anywhere can say anything to him and get away by a simple reprimand. From now on he cannot expect Saurav to respect him or listen to him. He will be a puppet and remain so unless he decides to quit. He cannot think of changing the attitude of the Indian Cricket Team unless he commands respect. That should be the first criteria. Does he expect that the players from now on will listen to him rather than Ganguly ? Any comment he makes will be nullified, whether its about fitness or fielding or bowling. India does not need a coach anyway, as long as Ganguly and Dalmia is there. If Mr.Chappel remains, this is one decision he is going to rue throughout his life no matter what reasons he give.
