Indian cricket will surely pay!
by ashutosh on Sep 29, 2005 12:09 PM

we have already paid too much and we are still paying.we have lost 19 finals!!! can you believe this and they call him the most successful captain. how many matches " maharaj" has won is also worth counting. any Tom Dick and Harry would win if you have a good team but what is his contribution.
Had Azhar not been caught in fixing he would have been the most successful captain today and not the "maharaj" what our fellow bengali friends are flaunting.
Also those wins come from a collective efforts of draci, tendulkar, laxman kaif and yuvraj. I harly remember ganguly contributing lion's share of runs in any series.
we may now try a non playing captain who does only planning.no need to take the risk.

Are you a reporter or an astrologer !
by Meghadoot Chaudhuri on Sep 29, 2005 11:45 AM

Mr.Reporter/Astrologer,

Your report has been based on at least three foolish presumptions :

1. That Mr.Greg Chappel was really truthful and honest throughout.
2. That the alleged accusations against Sourav were all true.
3. That the three ex Indian captains including Mr.Gavasker and Shastri really had some dissent over the verdict.

Mr.L, that Greg has not resigned yet in spite of virtual negation of all his charges by BCCI speaks volume of the psychology of a liar. Had he been honest enough during his ego-battle (nothing more than that) with Sourav, he would have already flown to Australia to keep his head high. Only an untruthful and dishonest person can bear such a shame. He will just wait for further chances in future to hit Sourav below the belt through backdoor-attack (like the e-mail), yielding opportunities for people like Mr.Lavakare to cash on.

One simple question - why had Greg not come out with his allegations before Sourav disclosed something to the press ? Instead, he initially made a truce, took his own time to fabricate things against Sourav and then sent the mail. A truthful and upright person would never take much time to reveal 'simple truth'.

You are true, But Indians are blind while it comes thinking!!!
by Bansi B s on Sep 29, 2005 11:41 AM

I absolutely agree with your opinion.
We Indians always live on the past and hope something to happen based on the bygone things.
According to me no player is important to team as long as they are not performing and you shouldn't show mercy on the non-performers.
India is the place where you take things granted and your place wants to be reserved.
Chappell was right in his email. Ganguly is the person for whom injury always haunts just before the start of the play against the team which has got deadly fast bowlers.
It's better for Harbhajan to shut himself and mind his business. These cricketers have to learn from Gentlemen cricketers like Dravid, Laxman. By outbursting you are not going to prove what you are, but you are showing yor poor quality of attitude.
It' time for Ganguly to say adieu to 'Active' Cricket, so that Indian cricket can improve a lot.
If at the BCCI level one crucade called Jagmohan Dalmiya goes out of it, then only we can hope for a better fotune in Indian cricket.

Dear Mr.Aravind,

I fully agree with your comments. Mr.Chappel should quit the job immedietly if he has to gaurd his self respect. In fact the Indian cricket doesn't deserve to have a coach of Mr.Chappel's calibre. It is a shame to all the cricket lovers the way the Ganguly issue was handled by the Governing body. I personaly feel ashamed & doesn't want to see the Indians play in future.

Regards,
rv.

who cares anymore

Really - the hardcore indian cricket fan would have lost the last speck of respect he had for the game after this debacle. just dont even discuss about this ppl - it is a total waste of time. we now have an impotent captain, who is clinging to this role with all possible measures - good, bad and ugly. Oh! did i say good?!?! Sorry, that's the only one he's not doing.

if he values his captain's role so much - let it be. we dont even think he is fit to be in the team. as Wasim Akram says - first pick up the playing 11 and then a captain from the 11. the whole thing that everyone wants to see is whether ganguly is elegible to be in the playing 11. The answer is a big no. and he is ruining the careers of the more talented and capable youngsters.

If he values a 100 in 260 balls, i dont even wanna speak about that attack, pretty high - that's how he values himself. c'mon folks - i get so shell shocked when some clowns even support him.

The average indian fan now saw how much indian cricket is influenced by politics and money. the self appointed patron-in-chief and his puppets at the helm will continue this show till someone dethrones them. The sooner that happens the better it will be.

ganguly n chappell
by aubin on Sep 29, 2005 10:17 AM

hi all,

i dont understand why ganguly is suddenly blamed by all....ganguly is one of the most gustiest and bravest captains india has ever found!!!

And if chappells email contents if true is anything to go by, it is jus so derogatory of chappel to question the mental veracity of the nations cricket captain who has served us so well!!!!

if this is the case,if chappel levels the same charges against the next captain what would we do next???

and for the most successfull indian captain ever...he needs a more gracefull exit than this will ever be!!!
