Very fine column
by rohan on Sep 28, 2005 08:01 PM

Mr.Arvind, who has written this column is a gud analyst for sure!He has taken Ganguly to task, and made Chappell rethink abt his future as Indian Coach[if only Chappell happens to read this].It is very unfair on the BCCI's part to have given up the country;s cause just for the sake of one man who has not been a gud cricketer at all...almost all thru his career.Chappel is certainly true in his talks abt Ganguly, coz after all,he is a genuine cricketing brain and he cannot lie unnecessarily.Y is Sourav being shielded so much by Dalmiya's maliigned gang?is money so important to Dalmiya who's surely not a gud cricketing brain at all.The politics the BCCI is behind,is really irritating to all cricket fans in India nd it does not do any gud for the game.

One prays for Dalmiya's demise from Indian cricket or else we will not have this game is NUMBER 1 in India for long...

Indian cricket will surely pay
by Kirat Mehta on Sep 28, 2005 07:52 PM

Most certainly it will pay and how? As anIndian and lover of cricket, I have already said a goodbye to our chance for the next World Cup.
In the meantime there will be more spats andmore ugly episodes of what has just played out and in the bargain Greg Chappell will go back and India will lose all its face both off and on the field, all because it was very 'important' to shield just one player, for "the good of our cricket" so it has been said.
There will be no forgiveness for the panel members as well who chose to hide behind the facade of
amicability.
It has been so prounced that Indian cricketers are pious and cannot be touched, come what may.
Lets hope the commercial sponsers take a note of this and do not waste their money on advts. on those who are not only losers but have lost before they even began

ganguly vs chappel

the bcci review commitee verdict was just as expected

sunil gavaskar and ravi shastri speak so much when

they don the role of commentators.when they had a

chance to do some good to indian cricket they not

only failed but simply ran away from the real issue

by their verdict they called one of modern day greats

greg a liar.also what is the punsishment for ganguly

for going to the press after scoring a painstaking

unimpressive 100.if he had guts he should have gone

to the press much before scoring that forgettable 100

he is citing his brisbane 100 as an evidence of his

ability to play fas bowling.what is conveiniently

forgotten was both glen megrath and shane warne

did not play.also we all saw thwe way he played

shane bond

what is disgraceful was the review committee had sunil

gavaskar as a member.does he agree that ganguly is

good against fast bowling.if that is so then

b s chandrasekar is the best indian batsman.both

are same.please request mr.greg to leave immediately

with out suffereing any further humiliation.this

team india does not deserve that great man.the

whole exercise was typical of the board -spineless

inefficient and not in the least interested in indian

cricket

1.

Did you see how Dravid played Shane Bond in the same match (let me tell you, although Dravid's performance against Shane Bond was disastrous too, I don't like to tag that he is a bad batsman). On that particular day, not a single Indian player was comfortable against Shane.

2.

So Saurav could score 100 against Australia since McGrath was not there. hmm ....... perhaps other Australian bowlers were all spinners ! (also there must be dearth of good bowlers in Australia besides McGrath & Warne ......hehehe).

3.

So your fat-mind concludes that B.S.Chandrasekhar and Saurav is of same category on the aspect of batting. Replying on such a remark itself would dishonour me. I can only say, two boots for you. That's all 'intellectual analysts' like you deserve.

Its a shame for Indian Cricket and the board
by Calvin on Sep 28, 2005 07:15 PM

Hi,

After knowing the latest developments in the indian circus field,Its shameful that Captain Saurav has been left without chucking him for atleast a season.

The Reasons for that would be:

1.There is no point in coming to a conclusion without consulting with Mr.Gavaskar and Mr.Shastri who should have taken the responsibilty in taking this serious decision of a compromise, as it involves the future of indian cricket and millions of cricket fans at home.

2.Mr.Chappel cant be a yes man in our cricket circus like our Mr.Wright who was able to give his comments from his hometown but was not involved in the selection of our final eleven specially in the finals because it involves gaining the wrath of our skipper.

3.The Indian cricket has been our life and religion and the carelessness of Mr.Dalmiya and his personal intentions has kindled the pain inside and the shame in everyone who have been worshipping our beloved cricketers and the fact that all the players are now silent, even more brings out the agony since ganguly has issued an unofficial warning to his players not to open their mouth.

Chappell should be here.
by kingsly on Sep 28, 2005 07:10 PM

In the upcoming series we can easily identify who's the winner and who's the loser.
Its a prestige situation for both of them to prove their caliber.
I hope both of them puts alot of hardwork to impress everyone and I hope it works well for the team India.
If anyone fails in the upcoming series, he must be thrown with out any reviews or some stupid commitee...

cheers

Arvind ! Get some good sleep. You are obsessed to see Dravid as a captain. Calm down...and write about issues that matter more than cricket.
