Reg. Gangs
by Raghavendra Udupa on Sep 28, 2005 06:24 PM

Whether you like it or not.. Gangs is surely a great entertainer!!! Initially, it was with the bat.. now with his meanness.. See.. how is India positioned in cricket, when only few nations play and the reasons are not hard to find. If Gangs can play for India as batsman, even Venkatapathy Raju can play for India as a batsman.

Oh...for God's sake - Dhut Up!
by Sam on Sep 28, 2005 05:56 PM

u know,

u r the most partisan cricket commentator i've ever... and believe me, there's some tough competition in our country...

...dunno who leaked ganguly's reposte, to a 'mumbai daily' mind u, but the some of the points there are ex facie evident as true...ever heard of 'res ipsa loquitor' - dude

seems, not only the manager, but the fitness trainer and physio have acquitted ganguly of either faking injuries(for getting scans done u need facilities, duh) or of shirking practice - infact the trainer has he has completed more than his alloted quota of practice sessions. yes, admitted that his not the most agile of the team, but every person is different physiologically, so if he completes his fitness regiment, what more can u ask? evident chappel was playing on public perceptions of laziness created by journos such as u!

as regards being afraid to face up the new ball - i'm afraid i've to use the words 'ex facie' again - tell me, y would someone who is a captain and afraid of the new ball - go out to face the same in each and every ODI in zimbabwe (shane bond or otherwise), especially when he is out of form? He could have easily come at 1st or 2nd down on the pretext of form

Mr Lavarekar need get out of parocial bias in dealing with subject of national interest. He should read what Mr Wright prescribed to Mr Chappel through his own

experience. You can not decline his success along with

Ganguly although it may be bitter in taste for you.The

fact of the matter lie somewhere else.Your calculation

is also bias.Ganguly played PINDI EXPRESS and was in the verge of scoring two hundreds but to maintain the tempo of the match and to win he went for runs and got out for which the great Gavaskar reminded him that

on paper and history a hundred will always be more than 99.Both of them are at fault in opening their

mouth in front of media. Both should now on try to get

TEAMINDIA towards the path of grory.Ganguly has more

on stake, his own form and leadership. We were glad to

hear in BBC sports that given an opportunity Mr Dravid

would have supported his Captain as he did not like the way coch delt with captain in front of rest of the team.No Captain will accept such treatment who has

known the players for few weeks only.Days are gone

when colour of the skin used to dictate terms. You per-

haps still lag behind under those era.Wake up.

Just an excellent reply to such a biased article. Hats off to you since you were equally vocal earlier too by rightly blaming rediff as a partisan group. Carry on .............. always carry a lash with you for such sites as 'rediff'.

This man looks too much biased to Chappel. How else can one explian that he seems so much sure of all views of Chappel. How are you so much convinced that this man is such a honest and great coach. He didnt manage to even take South Australia upto the finals. He is also infamous for being the only person to have ordered underarm bowling in an International match. How can you trust such a person so much.

If Ganguly was such a crap as per you, then definitely India would not have been a team as if saw in the last 5 years. Ok, in one day cricket we went down, but remember it is for the first time in history India went up to no.3 in test ratings

Cricket looses its charm.
by Pratap on Sep 28, 2005 05:31 PM

I have lost all interest in cricket from the time I learnt matches were being fixed. Whats the use wasting my time seeing a game that was fixed, huh? Now after that big scandal there seems to more coming time and again to degrade Indian Cricket. The only fool in the entire game is the viewer. Indian cricket is rife with all kinds of politics. If it was not so, who would expect people like Jadeja to continue for so many long years. Ganguly as I feel was continuing in the game from the past 3 years only because of these politics. Indians from the time Azhar was around never played professional cricket and will never learn what professionalism is about. Players are motivated by money and not by the game. Ganguly should have gracefully exited the game long back, why is he staying and spoiling Indian cricket? It is not just him, people like Sehwag, Harbhajan, Yuvraj, Agarkar all of them should be removed from the game atleast for sometime. These people think they are gods of the game. None of them (None), have shown some consistency in the past few years. Sehwag gets out making a 30/40 in 10 balls. What is the use? Dalmiya and his gang are also playing their part in defaming BCCI

GANGULY
by SANJAY KRISHNA PARAB on Sep 28, 2005 05:20 PM

Ganguly has lost the respect which Indian people were giving to him by his own hand.abhi woh hawa me chalta hai.he should come down & think.Captain\\\'s work is not only to set the fielding & to change the bowling, but at the difficult time he should be in a position to take responsibility of the team in bowling or batting.

but where is Ganguly?he is getting runs only against weak attacks, bangaldesh, kenya etc.he should remeber Mark Teylor of Australia.when he was not performing well he withdrawn himself from the team, remember he was Captain of AUS.at that time.it requires big heart.Ganguly doesnt hv that big heart.but i believe that BCCI is taking such decisions due heavy political pressure, otherwise Ganguly has no place in local region team also at present.

Bye Bye Chappell
by Suchismit Ghosh on Sep 28, 2005 05:18 PM

Well said

If Mr Chappell has the least bit of sporting spirit left in him he should take the first flight home.

However the very fact that he is still in India suggests that he has no self esteem leave alone sporting spirit.

What more can be expected from a man who as skipper orders his bowler to bowl under arm?

Yes and its going to pray heavily on that.................
by Kalpesh on Sep 28, 2005 05:15 PM

The coloum is in true sense reflecting the current and future state of Indian cricket team. If Ganguly wants to becoan himself as great player he should resign right now otherwise he will be always remebered as a bad period of Indian Cricket history. In my point of view Ganguly gets his commercial fees from advertisement and others only due to hi Captionship in India if he is no more captain no more ads featuring him a simple equation calculation which is going to hurt Indian team deeply.

Indian Cricket will surely pay
by S. Ranganathan on Sep 28, 2005 05:07 PM

Yes. I am fully agree with you. I don't know this article may get lot of unfit replies, like you peopl are seeing only white skin and not an indian mind. If we are true Indian, with Love on Indian soil, we shd have take a stern action against Ganguly. He felt his place is not there in the 11 and played very poor game for india. I think the Board, don't want india to win in World Cup 2007 and make way even to Kenya, Bangladesh, etc. to take ranking before us.

As you said, if Chappel have any self-respect, he should immediately say good-bye to india.
