Pls Resign..Mr Chappel....ENOUGH of u
by Avinash Singh on Sep 23, 2005 01:01 PM

I really wonder how can a man who is "mentally and physically unfit" can successfully lead the indian team for all these years.I do agree that ganguly is out of form but that does not mean that the coach has the right to rubbish him in order to push him out of the team.I know that Greg Chappel was a great player in his time but i am afraid to say that he is not a great coach at all.He has a serious attitute problem. We all admit that ganguly is the most succesful captain india has ever produced.Such unprofessional words aginst him from a so called "professional" coach is highly unjustified.BCCI has to do something to eradicate this dirty politics. Sourav Ganguly has done a lot for the indian cricket team and i think that he deserves some respect for all his good work.People who are bad mouthing ganguly should be ashamed of themselves. Its unfortunate that the media , the BCCI, some ex-cricketers and some people of india are creating problems rather than solving it.Elimination of a player with an enviable track record like that of ganguly is ridiculous....

i Think ganguly should take rest for some months & make entry into team after say 4-5 months. This will help team to realize the value of him. & also it will give ganguly a chance to practice & come up to show that he is among the best

Let media know take on Ganguly
by pravin on Sep 23, 2005 12:53 PM

Everbody feels what Mr. chappel feels about ganguly. Definitely he was great player in past. But now he is nowhere near to it. But I do not feel BCCI can take any action against ghanguly. So let meadia starts compagaining against him so thatBCCI is forced to take action. We as Indian cricket fan are tired of all these white elephants Ganguly, Laxman. Let fresh blood come in.

Ganguly unfit to lead.
by krishnan. N.K. on Sep 23, 2005 12:51 PM

Yes, I agree with Chappell. The Captain is unfit to be in the playing eleven, may be even in the fifteen. Though the series was won in Zimbawe, which even our state teams like Bombay/Delhi teams could have done that. Sooner we give charge to somebody else in the team like Sehwag/Kaif, the better it will be for Indian cricket. Watching the Captain run while feilding & while scoring runs is pathetic. His days for Indian Cricket is over.

Is nothing sacred!?
by Adveith Nair on Sep 23, 2005 12:49 PM

I come to your website to check my mail, but this ganguly chappel saga, which by the way, is far more interesting than the recently concluded test series, always pops up. there's always something new, and i've given up all hopes of being able to check my mail in peace! so wots indian cricket in the news for!? pathan's 21!? bhajji's 200!? yeah, maybe, but the BCCI elections and the big fight have hogged quite a bit of the limelight! but greg, why mail poor Mr. Mahendra!? the guy's already under a lotta pressure...who to support, who not to support, will he win...! dada's not 'physically and mentally fit to lead the side'!? chappel's character is questioned!? so wen do these guys discuss cricket!? i'm not an expert on these things, but i have this sick feeling that indian cricket is goin absolutely nowhere. captain and coach bickering, board officials bickering, and this, when the guys are actually playin ok and there are plenty of gud reasons for cricket to be in the news! whither team india!? greg, dada, wot next!? cricket is our religion, guys, and now i wonder, is nothing sacred!?

confidential email ?
by rayker on Sep 23, 2005 12:46 PM

please, come again? was that email confidential? then how i dint get a copy of that - when its all over the press, every single tv channel ? woner if there's much more going on - and ganguly and chappell are mere pawns used by the most powerful man in indian cricket (who the heck is he, and why is he there as a 'aapks cricket shubchintak' for such a long time). as long as there's all these politics indian cricket will jsut produce blips of good performance. that explains why ganguly the most succeful captain just one tour out of our subcontinetn and that too against zimbabwe. we will have a hundred super stars who are bothered about thier next endorsements!

BCCI should react significantly
by anand on Sep 23, 2005 12:44 PM

I think its enough now.

BCCI should seriously start thinking on finding Souravs successor. Ganguly has had his days and no doubt he led team well in the past, but for how long we will keep singing his success stories as now for more than 16-17 months he has neither played any significant innings, nor led team to any one-day series victory.

Moreover this guy feel himself above the game and the kind of backing he has been getting his attitude became bigger and bigger.

Now the time has come to build a fresh team India in the able leadership of cool and collected heads like Dravid and Chapell and for Saurav his should be immediately dropped from the side unless he improves on his game, attitude and fitness.

Chappel's right.
by shashi on Sep 23, 2005 12:44 PM

I think what Chappel is doing is right and should have been done a long time back. It seems that the Indian Cricket captain sees himself as more powerful than the board. I am sure that Ganguly will not find a place in any top team as a batsman. He should have been sacked a long time back. There should be no place for such arrogance and ego in a sportsman.

Chappell should have added that hi is not worth at all for First class cricket

Zimbabwee tour should be his last first class match. The tour should be farewell & benefit match
