I think Best Choice would be Mohd. Kaif and We should train him to face the challenges as a captain will help Indian cricket team in a long run. While the time Dravid is broomed as a captain it will time for him to quit
yes The wall called Rahul Dravid will serve india better than axed skipper Sourav ganguly the result does nt matter the team at his Tenure matters as he had got tjhe wright Team at his Tenure for Example when Tendulkar Got the Capatency what Team he had he didnt even had one Boller at the Standard of International level so every thing is a Clear Picture to the people or to the Board.
Even though Rahul Dravid could has shown maturity in the test innings but as far as the one day is concerned the winning effort comes either from sachin / saurav or from the young players like Yuvraj. Why not mention the bowlers even. As far as the contribution of rahul dravid is concerned, has been good but not more than sourav or sachin. It is better to leave him as a batsman. The success of him being great wall of India largely depends on how much less responsibility he has in the team. But captaincy is different once you get it and you need to make sure it does not leave your hands. So the players tend to perform well and loose their concentration because of the pressure to win matches is more. I think great wall of India will collapse in such a situation.
Looking at other options like sachin who has not still recovered from his injuries that clearly shows how he performed in the domestic challenger cricket tournament. Of course Virendra shewag could do better. But has he given more responsibility before in the team. Let us leave him as vice captain so he could learn more to captain the team after few years.
India in the world cup 2007. Do u think what happened between sourav and chapel wont happen again between rahul and chapel. Of course India did well in the previous world cup. They went to the finals under the captaincy of Sourav. It is a good decision to stay with sourav and avoid creating a sort of dent in the team. I dont think the players in the team still believe in chapel. This is clear from Harbajans reaction to chapel over the sourav-chapel issue.
I think the best thing the BCCI could do is change the coach and may be hire the old one.
Dravid is a good choice but more than captains its the attitude of the players which is more important, i am sure Dravid can get the team together and inculcate the right attitude into players
