I dont think Dravid is the right choice for the post of Captain. It is not doubt that Dravid is one of the best cricketers India have produced. In fact I consider him a better cricketer than Sachin Tendulkar. But is it not necessary a good cricketer will make a good captain. Ian Botham, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara are examples of this fact.
While I am very happy for Rahul, but I am bit apprehensive that the captaincy may affect his batting performance. The hottest job in Indian Cricket has been handed over to him in a difficult time as the team is not doing well. Hope, Rahul must have learnt the harsh realities of Indian Cricket because the public memory in India is rather short. The same forces who are supporting him as the Captain may turn back and be after his throat if he fails to deliver as a batsman as well as Captain.
I wish Dravid a spelendid carrer as capatin. He is very cool and encouraging capatain . Hw will have to go a long way. making team united should be the first perference
Definitealy Raghul will be better captain and player. He has got right temperant and fighting quality. Moreover he will not lose temper at the time of crisis. In the longrun he will be a good captain.
I absolutely agree with d selectors decision 2 make dravid d captain of Indian cricket team. Its high time tht v put an end 2 d autocratic style of functioning tht has crept in2 d team off late.

So i totally agree with Greg n his policies which r modern n quite forward-looking, tht if v r 2 b world champs in 2007, we'l hv 2 tak sm very tough decisions like d aussies did in d late 80s-early 90s..
Dravid is d best man in the team 2day as he is the only genuine player who plays for the team n country.....

Statistics say that Sourav is a good captian and has scored good amount of runs in the past, but it doesn't mean that he should be captain. If we look the stastics then Kumble is the highest wicket taker of Indian team, then shall we consider now Kumble as captain? Ofcourse, Kumble had deserved the captaincy long back and unfortunately he is a bowler who get less support from media as well as selectors. Same way, Sourav has done well in past but not now. So he is not capable for Indain team captaincy.
Next question, is there anybody in the team other than THE WALL capable of doing the job?
Rahul Dravid is the best option for the job. Atlast, BCCI and selectors have opened their eyes. Thank God. Now we expect better cricket from Indian team.
As a player, Dravid is best and dependable but not captain.
My suggestion, No Dravid, No Sourav, now the time is to choose a new captain. Younger, cool, good temparment, good fitness level, and that should be Md. Kaif for One Day Internal and World Cup 2007. For Test Sourav is the right choice.
