Match Fixing
by Amit on Aug 02, 2004 12:11 PM

Dear Sir/President of I.C.C/Mr. Dalmiya

This is Amit from Delhi. We just want to inform u according last final match against INDIA v/s SRILANKA in Asia Cup on Sunday. We knows that that match was fixed. coz Indian Team have a very good allrounders and thats not a difficult Target to chase. First of all the opener Hero "Virender Sehwag" is the Fastest Fifties and Century in the world. "Sachin Teldulkar" over 13,000 runs in ODI matches. We cann't say anything about him. coz he is too much. All of the citizens says in delhi Sachin always play for ownself not for country. next is Very-Very-Special Laxman. Next Indian Skipper "Sourav Ganguly" whats wrong with him. "Rahul Dravid" Always plays for india then what happened yesterday. "yuvraj singh" he won the natwest final against ENGLAND at his home with "Kaif"

so, we'll hope u'll never do this again..

Chear 4 INDIA

Wait for big sixes from MRF's bat and BRITANNIA's bat (SEHWAG & GANGULY)

Amit

The Matrix of Cricket
by Mohan on Aug 02, 2004 09:51 AM

Let me be the first one to congratulate Mr. Avinash Subramanian and Rediff for finally writing about this. As someone who has arguing about this very topic for more than three years now one a different forum, I was pleased to see a portal like Rediff speaking out about this menace.

Cricket is now part of entertainment business. Indian TV audience constitutes more than 80% of the market for this business. Which means those who run this business (the boards, the ICC, sponsors, broadcasters) etc just can't afford to ignore this huge market. So in every tournament, India *has* to be in the finals. Consider this, India has been in the finals of every single tournament they have played in last 4 years. Even Australia hasn't managed to do that, they didn't reach the finals of two ICC Knock-out tournaments. On the other hand, every one-on-one series involving India has been decided by the last match of the series.

It is a rotten, corrupt system designed to help sponsors make a mockery of the millions of fans' passion for the game and use that passion to their advantage. It is high time the Indian fans realize this and put an end to this show.

Perennial pessimist
by vaspro on Aug 02, 2004 08:22 AM

The author seems to have seen the Matix move woke up and have seen the scorecard of the match at the end of the match.

this article is foolish, to put it be mildly. The author seems to be confused and is apparent from his para's mixing both innings.

He sounds to be a little RSS brigade so called upholder of Hinduism who can never digest the fact that a boy like Irfan Pathan can rise from the floor in his small house and can become the spearhead of India's pace attack.

with due apologies.

Regards,
Srinivas

hello

awesome article!!

some of it is sadly true.....

the system is corrupt.....

the top brass and the high priests of the ICC are monetarily
manipulating things and finding patsies like Hansie Cronje.
If tests and one dayers can be fixed..........think about 20-
20.........
it would all be just for money and not for any human values.
i am ashamed that India is playing a huge role in this.
