I think the question should not be of Indian or non indian. It should be against performance. And that wright has produced....If tomorrow somebody from Antartica can produce results take him....No one said indian coaches are bad.....wright was picked he performed and dropping him to pick an "Indian" is absurd......

Enough of this rubbishing a person and team

Much water has flown under the bridge about the merits and demerits of a foreign coach. Let one thing that the facts prove not be forgotten and that is that Mr.John Wright did a great job. The team also did a great job reaching the finals of this world cup not on tailor made tracks and not only on the shoulders of Tendulkar. The massive contribution by the fast bowlers, the emergence of an exciting middle order, Dravid's courageous role as keeper and Mr.Dependable all ddeserve kudos. Just work at the future and smash the Aussie's next time.

Money money everywhere, not a dime to spend

Indian cricket has never seen better days in the recent past. John hasn't just brought the team spirit into the Indian game, he has also instilled some amount of pride in playing for the national side.

Coaches before him were only bothered about saving their job, or getting out of it if the team was performing badly. John has made it possible for the Indian players to undertake responsibility for their actions and at the same time supporting their efforts.

The BCCI, in my opinion is a bunch of accountng nerds who just care about making their pockets heavier (which I believe will only drown them in the future), and have absolutely no regard for the nation and the attached sentiments of millions of cricketing fans.

Things can never get better with people like Kapil showing absoulte disregard for the team's wonderul showing in WC 2003. It is upto the team members now, senior and junior alike, to take a step towards restoring sanity in Indian Cricket (with a capital I and a capital C ).

John is the right choice.

Which domestic coaches is Paa'ji is talking about. All Indian coaches are burdened with the load of pleasing the administrators of Indian cricket or obliging by the selectors quota system. It is good that Indian cricket appoints foreign coaches who will not be influenced by anyother constraint other than performance of the team. The board should have a proffessional view on this than a sentimental approach.

Good Analysis
by Subhashis Biswas on Apr 05, 2003 02:44 PM

The article is a very good one, logistically exposed the mean-mindedness of our former cricket players. What is most disappointing and shameful is that all these former players do not have a big heart and theu are all mean minded, searching for their own vested interest instead of the enjoying the glory and success that has been brought into Indian cricket by Wright,Lepus and Leroux. We have seen how former cricket players handled our team in the past, and how unprofessional we were in field. Now we can easily see the change in the body language and confidence in the players, and we can feel that this bunch is like an united family. I really feel pity for Vengsarkar, who indeed was a good batsman, but as a person,India should not have these kind of people around in its cricketing circuit.

Good job Mr. Wright, we look forward seeing you with our players in near future and we hope you will silent these jokers as you did in last couple of years.

Somebody who reads this article and is close to the BJP bosses please make them read this...They are the only ones who can dictate to the Dalmiyas and Devs of the world to just shut up and keep their opinions to themselves.

Somebody please tell me that these guys are not going to spoil the amzing camatradrie this team finally seems to be having. Let it stay this way for some more years so this becomes a culture in our team that no coach can ever take away..

Somebody please do something

Suhas
