Wright should continue.Only Woolmer can replace him.Indian coaches? We had enough. The Indian seniors are best in giving expert comments on TV beside Mandiras or Bhogles.
I was in South Africa to watch the finals and found that most Indians there are most critical of every thing that the team did. This included NRIs who had obviously spent a lot of money to fly in from the US,UK.
Yet I met with enough South Africans who were sad and distraught that their team had not even qualified for the super 6. They had the grace to take defeat on the chin and hope for better times in the future.
We as Indians love to run each other down. Bishen Bedi (whose almost manic obsession is to berate Ganguly), Dilip Vengsarkar and others should get a life.
Now that the Indian team is doing good and there is a lot of money, these former 'greats' want to a piece of the pie. Especially when the going is good. The team has best chances of keeping the winning streak and the new coach need not do much. So when it is easy, let's rake in the money. That's the attitude. I dont think we should call them 'greats' anymore.
One more thing comes to my mind. People like Vengaskar etc.. could not make much money out of cricket since sponsorship was almost non-existent then and money was also less. Now they see these young kids making in crores and can't stand it. So at the cost of Indian cricket they want to be coaches so that they can also make up for the lost opportunity.
These former players have done nothing great during their play time to be able to do good to the current indian cricket team.you can leave it as it is now...its doing much better.
I think vengsarkar and kapil manage their own business and do the job which is given to them.
Wright should be given extension and indian cricket team should be given the best facilities which they deserve.
I think that every Indian who is patriotic would realise what an excellent job john wright has done to change the attitude of the indian cricket team. He has moulded a team of individual performers ito a single unit ready to take on the world in any part of the world. (Doctored pitches in some part of the world an exception to the rule).
SO I think that mr Dalmiya should forget about changing him till the next world cup. Former Indian cricketers who are jealous of the money paid to him should realize that he is just getting his just dues.
he has done a far better job than any of his indian predecessors. So guys keep your hands off.
