They will be all no more some anti-India elements posing as writers and editors. REediff is famous for enrolling such people for writing articles for it. Look at Kashmir issue, it never covered the sufferings of Kashmiri Hindu Pandits and instead covered many useless articles on traitors and anti national lumpen elements.

Truth hurts doesn't it. But that is a good thing. This hurt will lead to the cleansing of India both mentally and physically.

Sweepers and workers
by SaneIndian on Sep 24, 2010 11:41 PM  | Hide replies

They all look malnourished and totally tribal.

DO CWG organizers contract Jharkhand and Tamil Tribals to sweep the roads?

None of those sweepers are wearing any uniform. They just add to the bad scenery. Those people bring in their kids who wear no dresses and run around while their malnourished parents sweep the roads with a broom.

There is a way to portray to the world about the development we achieved. India failed miserably in doing it.

The age old stereotype of an Indian man/woman is Dark/Skinny/malnourished/bare bodied people. A lot of those pictures reinforce the stereotype.

Why bring in poor tribals to these places to sweep? Why propogate the stereotype?

Every time people do that - the rich fair skinned wealthy Indians do NOT realize the entire world thinks badly of them and their value systems. Treating your own nationals like this is not Kosher in other countries - there would be a revolt.

By no stretch of imagination, this can be termed development. You may have wet dreams that India is a developed or fast developing country - these are merely wet dreams - there is a Loooong way to go...

And would you well-to-do, fair-skinned, properly nourished, with fit bodies take up the task of cleaning and sweeping?
Most of these well-to-do guys don't do cleaning in their own houses or wash their cars. Reality check ?

Hey Suresh. SaneIndian is right in commenting about the look of the workers. If you want to host a world class sports event, dress up accordingly. Give the workers uniforms and add it to the event cost. I'm sure this should have been budgeted and funds allocated. The contractor would have taken the money and not given the uniforms to these workers. Corruption is the root cause for all the issues in India.

Yeah- why can't they have proper footwear and clean uniforms? It's a safety concern as well- or do we not care about " Dark/Skinny/malnourished/bare bodied people"?

Dont take responsibility unless you have not any interest in that.Because interest in the subject brings some new features add to that what needed. In India it shows from the sports endorsement and facilities available in school level and college level sports. If in a nation their people not aware of what the game is how they will feel the heat boss?
