Suresh Kalmadi represents the remarkable failure of a system which went unchecked for such a long time - until the GOI & Delhi intervened at the very last minute. The chaos preceding the Games only reflects the lack of accountability of our leaders. The Govt. of India & Delhi besides other agencies are equally to blame for the mess witnessed before the Games. They all appeared to have woken up after a long slumber, until a few months / weeks before the Games - that too when they feared the political repurcussions. Perhaps, the CWG also reflected the consequences of vesting too much power in the hands of one man / team (if indeed Kalmadi is solely to be blamed). We only hope the Govt. of India at the highest level shows its commitment to cleanse the system, by first punishing the guilty as assured before the Games began.

GOI (MS Gill) was responsible for building Sports facilities.
Delhi Govt (PWD) was responsible for building all infrastructure .. like roads, bridges, parking lots, etc.

Well, the OC was responsible for ensuring the facilities were ready well in advance. If it didn't do the job of monitoring the progress, and escalating matters to the Central Govt. the OC headed by Mr. Kalmadi is surely to blame. Of course, Mr. Gill and Mrs. Dikshit could have shown the initiative much earlier, but did so only when rapped on the knuckles by the PM. It's also to do with who gets credit for the success of CWG.
He should have gone at least two decades earlier. He is nothing but total disgrace for India. But he makes and shares a lot of loot with the netas and babus and so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a slap on the wrist and continues his obnoxious ways and hangs on to the Presidency of IOC. Shame, Disgrace and Disgust. Feel like throwing up!

Plz correct urself, it's not him who has done it successfully. There were hundreds of unknnown faces & the last minute pitch-in of our prime minister which brought the things in place. It's time 2 wake up, these comments r not being posted coz Kalmadi is a Marathi or Congressite or whatever. It's just that this idiot didn't even thought once that it's a matter of nation's image in front of the world.

here the message raised is about the speech from kalmadi even on closing ceremony, which he could have given better by thanking all the people and sportsmen who was part to make this game success. A person of his experience at least could have done better in his speech if not in work.
In India, its a known fact that for self-interest, politicians can go down to any level. Now that corruption w.r.t. CWG is known to even the street kids, Congress needs to clean its Khadi dress off the corruption charges.
The only way left for 'em to is wash their linen in public, to make it public that culprit is not us (read Congress) but CWG committee/organizers. TOI bent its back to expose Kalmadi & Co. coz the official rights to cover the games was not awarded to TOI.
Someone's gain is another one's loss. Congress will find and lead Kalmadi to the sacrifical alter, he being exposed beyond any return.
Call him a goat or a scapegoat, he has to be sacrificed.

hi, He is not a national traitor, he is a hero who make CWG succesfull and make india proude. Countries who are Criticizing us , after coming coming to india and attending CWG. really start praising us, this is not because of media but because of Mr.Kalmdi. He is the man who succesfully condut CWG junior in Pune 2008. The real traitor is Media , who actually spoil india's image just for increasing TRP. We have no right to Criticize any one till we are not aware of truth, how can we humilate a man who makes india proud and now we can bid olympics. You know what there are 'n' number of currption in China during Bijing Olympics , but media is not allowed to speak anything. But as we are democratic our media is speaks like basanti in shole and spoils any person image. they can priase Rakhi sawant who is a nationl shame for all of us and comment on those who are really working for the proud of country. Yes I agreed there are some mis mangement but the big event like this , such things use to be happen and according to me thats not a big issue. Before CWG, Media use to say that it will became shame for india and Kalmadi spoil the image of india, but know CWG is succesfully over every country is happy with the arrangements, Mr.Fennell says that Delhi has given a exceptional games, this is because of Mr.kalmadi. Now if media really care about there country they should appollozies in front of whole nation for spoiling country image by showing false report .
