Disappointing article
by Kamal Seth on Oct 05, 2010 11:02 AM  | Hide replies

I am disappointed by the way your correspondent has covered this ceremony. She finds no merit in it even though most of the people (including foreign media) liked it and praised the organizers for a good job done. However your correspondent has picked all the negative points to butteress her belief that India cannot do anything right. Such tendency must be curbed. As a correspondent one must not judge events with a biased mind and must give credit where it is due. WELL DONE INDIA.

Good Article on face of imperfect INDIANS
by deepak sharma on Oct 05, 2010 10:47 AM  | Hide replies

It is long way to go when Indians will understand the meaning of perfection.

Its country of large population. Indians have cheap habit of showing their hippocratic tolerance power by accepting imperfection.

You might wannabe android who only believes in regimented ceremonies. By the time India hosts Olympics, the robots might be performing those ceremonies and you can fulfill your dream.

Sheela does not believe in extravagancy that is why she will give her daughter’s hand to an illiterate person and will not spend even a rupee in her marriage.

I enjoyed the show and so did majority of the onlookers. It received a thumbs up from all corners of the world so if somebody didn't like it, no complains. The Indian constitution offers the citizens of India enough liberty and right to freedom of expression and speech.

obviously ur ignorant abt the tax u pay. or mebbe u pay too lesss...or u r in a position which entitles u a lot of bribe.
Kalmadi and cronies din't do anything fabulous.
They just spent thousands of crores which by the way wasn't even required given the condition of Indian poor.
People like u who are ignorants and naive are responsible for these kind of irrepsonsible behaviour of Indian public..glorifying the opening cermony,
You obviously don't know the value of money.

Well, who knows how much anyone earns and how much he/she pays tax?

After CWG was given to India, we had to complete the task with whatever funds available.

Im sutre you are one of those people who didnt want the opening ceremony to be success?

I have noticed that Indians are becoming too selfish now a days.

Mr. India, it seems you have a lot of problem in paying your taxes that you are cribbing so much.Don't bother how much I pay as that is not your concern. People like you are pessimists who cannot appreciate good. By appreciating the CWG opening ceremony, none of us are glorifying corruption.

India loves to live in the colonial mindset of pleasing its western masters, so should this come as any surprise. You can put a slave in a human being very esily but it is hard to put a human being in a slave.

Totally Disagree
by JOSEPH on Oct 05, 2010 10:30 AM  | Hide replies

We can't and should not adopt the Western mode since we strictly adhere to our own Customs and ways of Welcome and Inaguration. You Could well remember when we got Freedom from from the Coloniers Nehruji just liened to the Western Culture and way of life but the Russians advised him to strictly keep our identity and it will help us to project our uniqueness to the World. At this juncture I remember an old incident where a poor man went to his son's College to meet him in his traditional dress then the son was ashamed to introduce him to his friends as his beloved Father instead he told that the person is their servant. Just imagine how that poor man's heart grieved. Hence We should be proud of what we are and don't shy away!
