Indian Media is UGLY - Slap on face of Arnab Goswami
by iota on Oct 05, 2010 10:29 AM  | Hide replies

Just like Shiela Bhatt. It can only find FAULTS.

Question:
Not even a single media showcased the massive infrastructure created in Delhi, enormous stadiums.

Indian Media, Journalists - are doing what the protagonists in movie PAA accused them of - SENSATIONALIZING for their personal benefit.

CWG Opening Ceremony is Slap on face Times Now.

How may I ask that a gala opening cermony on which around 500 crores of tax payers money will be spent is a slap on the face of media???
most of the Indians don't pay taxes or are not even bothered abt it since they r too bz trying to earn in some other wrongful way!
have you seen the poor on Indian roads??
come out of ur ac cars and start eating the leftovers what rich throw on the road. Maybe then u'll realise the condition of India

What India Displayed
by Poorni Shelke on Oct 05, 2010 10:23 AM  | Hide replies

at the CWG was its Colonial and servile mindset in all its glory and pompous manner even after 63 years of Independance.

This was an Extravaganza at the cost of poor and Hungry people which the SC directed the country to feed freely, which the Food and Agri Minister Mr. Pawar Refused, that the nation show cased to the world with Food inflation at 16%,Maoist strikes.

Mr. Chidambram and Dikshit are so preoccupied with providing security to the White skinned people at the stadium that they forgot to nab the terrorists who struck at Jama masjid and are still at large with no clues to the Delhi Security.

As Ms. Arundhati Roy says Congress led UPA-2, India is being ruled in an ADHRMA ways just like Hastinapur was, by Kauravas and India would one day meet the fate of Hastinapur.

Sick Mentality
by shishir k on Oct 05, 2010 10:20 AM

The Indian media has a sick mentality. And this article is a vulgar display of that mentality. Even if you give them something good.. they will spend their lifetime trying to look for something not so great ! I dont know why their mothers decided to grow them.

Where are our priorities in life
by indi man on Oct 05, 2010 10:18 AM  | Hide replies

A country is judged by how it treats the weakest. It is not judged by what others from outside say about it, therefore hosting the cwg matters not. India will not gain the stature or respect it desires, till the poor and destitute start getting treated like human beings, forget about the cwg, it doesent do much for me. If we think a few firecrackers and bright lights in front of the world is something that will take us to the promised land then we are doomed to begin with.

If we did this Cwg for us, we would be writing one article or comment about the Indian athletes that live a nightmare of a life but still aspire to do what they love, which is the sport they chose to do not for financial compensation, because they know they wont get it in this country but for thelovee of the game. Instead we worry about the shame that we have been put through in the eyes of the world, how proud we are because of a few firecrackers lighting up the sky and the worlds media clapping hands. Ask yourself this question is it all worth it, when the real athlete that won maybe a bronze or silver for this country goes back home and doesent know how they are going to feed their mother or father, educate their brothers or sisters, how they are going to pay for their health problems etc.. Are we so concerned about what everybody else outside India thinks about what a succesful ceremony this is, that we wont mention a word about our own flesh and blood that struggles with life the way they do.

Good Show.
by Nitin Dutt on Oct 05, 2010 10:10 AM  | Hide replies

I loved the ceremony and it was great, despite attempts by world media and our own sick motivated media the event was not only gala but paled beijing as well. It is very easy to criticize anything and one thing I have learnt is that urban India and so called high class self made idiotic critics have decided to deride everything Indian.

Had the show been organised by scotland and Canada, the very same people would have gone week in their knees. Cried and said this is what is called a show.

Let us be very frank. We have seen this umpteen times at the Republic Day parade. What was new? Even the yoga or the dances or anything else wasn't new or fascinating. It were just the colours and loud cacophony of music. Are we going a step forward or ten steps backwards? The tradition and culture should have been in a capsule and more of the emerging India, its strength, its leap alongwith some majestic, breathtaking spells of something amazing as they showed at Beijing should have been there. who knows the 'dabbawalas' abroad? That train created a chaos. What was the use of it there? The theme song of the much hyped AR Rehman was a spook. We told the world that we have nothing new to announce and we are just basking in the old glory. The amalgamation of the yester with the neo should have been the theme.

Dabbawalas are doing what even Harvard students cannot think off. This is Indian business, a pure guniess. indian culture- how many people know about Indian culture, it is so diverse just checking out some showpieces at R'Day parade makes you think that you know Indian culture.

I enjoyed the show more than Beijing show.

Friend, remember one thing.Old is always Gold. You should always be proud of the culture which we have inherited from our parents and ancestors.Western culture looks good and lucrativ e only when you are young. After a period you will be bored with the same.Imagine what and where your roots would have been based on the western culture.
