I remember in 2007 both Team India (Cricket) and V.Anand won the World championship together (T20 WC). But Team India was given a grand arousal. There was a celebration parade in Marine drive of Mumbai. But no one knew when V.Anand entered India even. Ever since then Team India has displayed pathetic performance, crashing out of T20 WC in the very first round. But V.Anand has went on to win the World Chess Championship each year. This I am writing is for the knowledge of fellow Indians.
For me Chess is not a sport. It is a intellectual game. It is individual brilliance of V.Anand more than saying he is a product of India and all. He deserves Bharat Ratna

very unlikely. he is already 40. Chess champions peak by 35 and start going down. unfortunately for us, the next anand from india is yet to bloom. hope one does soon.
