well Anand has beaten karpov several times. he was a kid when fisher played so we will never know...and undoubtedly Kasporov is probably the greatest ever. Bout 4 champimships...3 different formats...thats Anand!

Look Anand has also beaten Kasporov and yes he was one of the greatest but when you talk all form of chess then Vishy is the best
Anand is the Face of Modern India. He should be the role model of young Indians. Face of India is not cricket, not Bollywood not even Information Technology. We Indians don't know who are our real heroes.
I had the great fortune to personally wish him ‘All the best’ for this match! I am replaying that moment again over again in my head right now, replacing ‘all the best’ with ‘Congratulations’ . wish I can meet him again
I think Kramnik was more graceful in defeat. Topalov was like… “OMG what will these military guys do to me in the evening, where should I hide.” cmon you lost to a better player, take it well and correct your attitude.” see, even after everything, Anand had nice words to say about Bulgaria and the organizers! learn from him. Its funny we call Anand ‘Tiger’. this was like taming a tiger in his own military den for him!! We must look for better compliments for Anand! One very important thing that Topalov gave to the chess world in this match is ‘the fighting spirit’. I must give credit where its due. The way he pressed hard till the end in all the games, its commendable and something that should be regularly followed everywhere. It cost Anand one game atleast. though he tends to be cocky at times, still I like the spirit. Finally, congratulations to Anand, peoples’ and world champion! and congratulations to Topalov for this great match!

Yes you are right. Though I am from Chennai I agree with you 100%. Only when people talk in terms of region, religion, caste etc. ohters will get offended and then starts the ugly querrel. One must think that he is Indian and be proud of it. Thats all. Our curse is like this that we always talk in terms of telugy, marathi. tamil, hindu mustlim etc. This is precisely the reason that we were ruled by small UK for 200 years and attacked by outside mislim rulers for 200 years.
Hats off to you. There are very few great Sports Person in INDIA who has sports spirit. You are one of them. Thanks for winning retaining the title with third time in a row. You were forced to travel for 40 road hours. They postponed the game for 1 day only. You lost the first game. They were getting success in disturbing your mentallity. But you played well from game 2 to 5 and 12 and prooved why you should be a winner. Hats off to you.

why? its a matter of fact statement. and to be fair it states 'arguably'. it does not say 'definitely'.
I want to know why is the Media and others who matter are not gung ho about Vishwanath's Anands victory...which is a great feat by all standards.
Why even TOI did not have him on the headlines....some days back Sania was given adequate mileage in almost all the media/newspapers/tv etc for her infamous nikaah to a pakistani....
Why is the media only interested in Terrorists and Minority personalities, if I may say?
