If it is a pride to represent the nation - and IPL is tiring me I would have chucked all IPL games .Period.

idiot, cricketers travel first class and biz class and talk about jet lag. This guy (world champ) travelled in a bus for 40 hours and asked for 3 days for rest and preparation and he was given one day.
Only in your kind of sports, you can jump into the bed any time.

Playiing cricket doesn't need any mental strength too.
The point is if you are tired, then you can neither think nor act normally and it affects your performance. Try to read a text book after a bad day and you will understand. The fact that after the 40 hour journey and the loss of the first game and the psychological warfare being conducted by the Bulgaraian Chess Federation, Anand still came up trumps and smiling and that is why he is a true champion admired by all.

I think that is not correct. Chess players have to be in top physical condition and they are known to loose weight during the course of a tournament.
