KPS Gill and Jothikumaran had already ruined Indian Hockey by filling in their pockets ...now this new management was thought of some major change towards the betterment of the Indian Hockey. Nothing works in this country ..its all money, power and politics ....talent figures somewhere in the bottom ....
Cricket is somehow surviving because it is being followed very closely by the aam aadmi and any mishap would even lead to revolt ...regarding other sports, no one gives a damn and players concerns remain the same ..
This is a national shame. All Indians should take moral responsibility and hand their heads down in shame. We have focussed too much on one silly spot cricket which is not even international. If a cricketer plays one world cup he can retire with the amount of money he earns! Whereas other poor sportsmen do not even get a slary and have to play for the love of the country!! Can the govertment not contribute towards other sports? 50% of all revenue earned through cricket should be diverted to other sports and Indians should take more interest in sports other than cricket.
These poor hockey players are living in poverty and starving. The sports minister, Suresh Kalmadi drive around in air conditioned Honda CRV and what not. No probs, let them drive in posh cars, but they can atleast give these hockey players decent money, a sizeable stipend etc. I think the govt should increase the budget to atleat 100 lacs so that 99 lacs is for corrupt ministers and atleast 1 lakh is for the starving hockey players. I just pray that these players are not victimised beacuse they dared to ask for wages rather than starve...
GO drown in the toilet o minister of sports. You drive mercs and BMWs and u cant pay a paltry sum of 25000 which is due to them shame shame. Our national game is in shambles.
just learn from the neighbour China on developing the Sports in their country; they have good well managed sports academy for every sport, have good infrastructure for each sport and thats the reason why Chinese win so many medels in Olympics, in Asian games, in any sports event. We(indians) are just living in the past glory but refuse to learn good things from others.
Govt. should look into the sorry state of hockey players and to restore the pride of Indian Hockey, even BCCI can do their bit to other sports using their surplus fund.
