After treating like this, we expect them to win medals...
by rohit mukkawar on Jan 08, 2010 02:49 PM

Hope the govt. sacks the hockey federation officials and stops treating hockey players like beggars...
Hockey has a golden past but for better future, players need to be nurtured and treated well...

Glory to grave
by Rahul on Jan 08, 2010 02:37 PM  | Hide replies

Our national game will be soon be dumped in to a graveyard courtesy Hockey India. It is indeed sad that the players are not paid their so called match fee which is peanuts compared to our rich cricketers who are milking money. This will never inspire a teenager to hold a Hockey stick instead he will always prefer holding a cricket bat.

Hockey is in pits. The fresh crisis only reinforces the fact how much the so called guardians care about our NATIONAL game. With world cup hovering so close, the players too have ill timed their revolt. Moreover they stand nowhere amongst the current powers of hockey. You feel very sad for the game. And there's no doubt BCCI is doing a good job looking after the interests of cricket.

Who decides if hokey is national game Hindi as national language. We have been taught like this since child hood recently I was surprised to read that as per our constitution we do not have any national language. You would find nationalized bank railways celebreting national language(Hindi) week I am sure same is the case with Hockey. We have made mockery of games which are controlled by govt officials (babus) and politicians. Finally we have to say BCCI is doing good job

fully agree with Rahul, the apathy toawrds other games and sports made this country a novice in many sports events. We have more than 100 crores polpulation and cannot think of a dozen golds at olympics
