Who is an Indian
by Indian on Aug 25, 2010 01:35 AM  | Hide replies

It is not to be anti India is the question.

But the question is ..for whom would your heart beat ..F I R S T ?

BUT Ask a Musalman (staing inIndia)in private, he will tell u it is pakistan.

Majority of musalman staying in India identify with Pakistan than India.
Yes Majority of them identify themselves with AN ENEMY country

There may be many who would tell u they are Indian first , but ask should India attack Pakistan and vreate trouble there, because of terrorism it is promoting in India.

Their Answer would be NO and infact they would suggest friendship with them, ...same as Shah rukh was suggesting

But if you ask an american for friendship with Osama or any such country threathning their existence like Libya or IRAN, The Majority of the answer would be NO.

Mo F which India are you living in and which part are you from, which Indian you have met that said not to attack Pakistan..
it seems your mind is already filled with hatred....
and that is what you are doing spreading hatred..through your filthy mind.
what ever you write or speak try to think rationally over it...
if you have guts to talk then tell me which part of India you are from...Then i will tell you what will be your thinking...
try to do some constructive work rather than breaking hearts and sreading hatred...
here the topic is Very Very Special Anand and the Indian Politics and Babugiris and you write Something else...
In India and throughout the world the worst thing to evolved is the politicians...every body knows it..still people like you fall for it...and u are one of the As HOOOO.....go suc some Politician ....it will give you more joy rather than commenting here

Slow week for HRD ministry?
by Ayon Pradhan on Aug 25, 2010 01:34 AM

We have Bangladeshi refugees all over the North East, we have Srilankan Tamil refugees all over the south, we have Pakistani men walking into Mumbai with impunity so they can shoot up the city - and these Babus are only concerned with Vishwanath Anand's citizenship.

Common problem of all Hindu / Indians ! Just Divide
by a b on Aug 25, 2010 01:23 AM  | Hide replies

I never realize this till i started reading anti-NRI postings saying they r not Indian. First time i went to south for tour and one guy shout at me for something saying 'u north Indians...' I was so surprised! The only time i saw all Hindu united was during 93 riots otherwise they find reasons to divide their own people.

On the other hand Muslims, irrespective of their reputation, knows how to make people feel that they belongs to them and add to them and so do christians.

The only reason v see some of the Indian muslims helping anti-Indians are because we never claim them as our own. the same way. What do u expect than?

Just bcs of our f attitude, not only we don't claim our people our own but even our motherland. Just pisses me off everytime when i see all dots only on India's map!! If LOC is not border as per 'so called' UN, than why can't all other countries just keep it straight. Does our govt. has any formal map and rules for those who misprints?

Learn to unite and claim your own ppl/land as ur own for god's sake.

Anand is Indian.
by ebie sam on Aug 25, 2010 01:02 AM

Anand is Indian. Ofcourse he lived in Spain for many years, but practically now he lives in India, and only lives in Spain for a couple of months a year. Most of the tournaments are either in Europe/Russia/Americas, and Spain is a good place to be for travel purposes. As he says, he has an Indian passport, and more importantly he plays with the Indian flag whenever he goes for a competition. A controversy is just unnecessary.

Is Anand Indian?
by Harsha Bhogle on Aug 25, 2010 12:26 AM  | Hide replies

Or is he like all Indians in the US who come to India once a year to buy property and to have home made food? A true Indian will stay in India, whatever the situation, not stay in Spain.

It is wrong! It is sometimes convenient to stay outside India for competitive games, particularly chess. Seconds and others are more inclined to work for him there at lower costs than in India at the same rates! Above all, defintely it is easy to concentrate and practise chess in the typical weather of the location in Spain where he stays. There is nothing wrong in remaining an Indian, and Indian Passport Holder, ... if an Indian remains outside India. In no way he is anti-India or anti-Indian; A true Indian may not necessarily stay in India. Unfortunate fallacy of logic by Mr Bhogle. I understand his sentiments, do not question his Indianness; but ask him to take the Indians who prefer for work to stay outside India into his stride as well.

Dear Friend, Spain has the ultimate Chess-specific facility, Highest number of Chess Wizards gathers throughout the year irrespective of the fact whether there is any event or not, many Universities supports the game much more than any other academia, he has a very large support-group over there to refine his techniques time to time. Such facilities are not available in our Country. What property is so great that one can find it only in India, if Anand is not a true patriot why would he still hold the Indian Passport and flash Indian Flag proudly on every possible occasion? Remember he is one of the very few globally known Indian (other fellow I know is former Badminton Champion Gopichand) of who refused to endorse premium paying Colas, Personal Care and Dress Materials, if he was greedy he could have minted in millions. He has only endorsed products related to education or totally safe, unlike your Cricketers ready to flash any products frame after frame and earning 100 and 200 Crores. So when comes to Anand show some knowledge and empathy. Stop writing senselessly mail after mail.

A true Indian will stay in India?

Where did you get that lovely logic? Traitors, goons, gangsters, low-life criminals, rapists, religious bigots, also live in India and thrive. And many of those who claim to live in India as patriots are the first ones who dont pay taxes, ask and pay bribes, spread filth everywhere etc etc. They are all Indians who love India because they stay in India!!!

Sri, weird logic. Just because some goons stay in India and thrive therefore true Indians should stay outside India??

SM - I underdstand about seconds being available outsoide India but tell me what prevents Anand from creating a world class chess facility in India and enciurage national talent to become his seconds one day? Surely he can do that? Just coming a few times to India and playing some games does not do anything for the game in India.

Ganeshan - even SRK proudly says that he is Indian yet we know that he would do anything and go to any country to sell his films. It is not the fkag you flash but what you do for the ocuntry that matters. Tell me what has Anand done to popularize chess in India? Does he encourage talent, have scholarships, contribute towards building world class chess infrasturcture? Yes, he is an Indian and he is a world champ and we are proud of that, but how is he passing it down? And dont call my posts senseless, if you are running out of logic to counter my arguments, thats not my problem.

"True" Indians dont stay outside India because there are goons in India. Not only your logic but your reading comprehension is in doubt. They go outside India for personal reasons. Just because you stayed back in India doesnt make you a "true" Indian whatever that is.

I am an Indian, I have US Citizenship and Passport now, but to this day my heart beats for India. Yes, that is not a bad trait, and if I can love India, she can still love Italy, her motherland. Would US trust me with the President's job? No. Should India give Sonia Gandhi any such position? No!

What a complete douchebag! Its called a job. For business and want of better professional improvement, people go out. Anand is the same. He plays with Indian flag. His heart is with India. That is more important. Not where he stays. Its the ignorant village idiots like you that make the whole fuss about living in India.

He's forced to. The chess circuit is based in Europe. If he was living in India, he'd go hungry, there is no recognition of the sport in India. In europe, you are very much respected for being a world champ in any sport. If u are playing a particular sport for a living, it makes sense to live in the place or near the place where it is based. If IPL was a year long event and no national duties required, most international cricketers also would've lived in India. No one would have doubted there citizenships in their respective countries. Why do we Indians make so much out of an Indian living overseas? In today's world, we go where the jobs are whether its cricketers to India, techies to US or athletes and sportsmen to Europe and N. America. Its no big deal.

A British Govt Dept would never question a Briton holding the British Passport his nationality particularly when he is on the soild of Britain or UK. Hell with the Union Govt's Dept. The officer responsible for the Greetings of the Season to V Anand is not fit for public service. had he had such remonstrances, he should have made discreet enquiries! The word "discreet" is not in the English language without a reason! That person should be made to apologise to the whole country as well. It was an insult in a sense to an Indian who could make it to the top in the world of chess internationally!
